Re: VoiceOver and IOS7.

2013-06-22 Thread Gordon Smith
iOS7 is strictly off limits for this group. As a registered developer myself,
it would be very wrong of me to encourage speculation regarding either iOS7 or
Mavericks. Apple announced Mavericks at the WWC but all the same it is not
something we encourage for discussion or speculation on list.

Kind regards

I thought it was a pretty cool remark. I mean really... Sitting in a dark

it okay on his own. here's hoping for more.

Re: VoiceOver and IOS7.

2013-06-12 Thread Geoff Waaler
I suspect that Sarah is mostly correct. Its murky ground here. The fact
that IOS7 and mavrics beta code is available to anyone who opts to fork over
$99 to Apple is public knowledge, as are many up-coming features. I would
think that such discussions are topical.

If I signed the NDA and installed IOS7, and experienced problems, I suspect
that I am bound by the NDA not to dump that kind of information on a public
list, which is why I was inviting private contact.

Thanks again for all who have responded both publicly and privately.

Well, I can live with bugs, but wondered generally how rough it was for a VO
user. Bugs are one thing, but rendering the phone unusable is quite
another. I understand that it is easier to downgrade back to 6 than it was
to downgrade to prier versions.

Thanks for all replies so far.

Do you really need an answer to this question? Surely, if you sit in a
dark room, on your own, in silence, and ask yourself this question,
you will find the answer.

I'd be amazed if anyone risked there primary phone with a very early
beta version of the oS.

VoiceOver and IOS7.

2013-06-12 Thread Geoff Waaler
Greetings,

I'm considering registering as a developer so that I can have access to the
IOS7 beta. A little cursory Googling suggests that this initial beta is very
rough around the edges. Still, I'd like to provide input about IOS7 before it
is released. My question (if anyone can respond without violating any NDAs) is
whether it is realistic for a totally blind person to install and use IOS7 on
his/her primary phone at this point in the IOS7 development cycle.

If answering here is getting into sticky territory, any/all private notes would
be greatly appreciated!

TIA, and best regards.
Geoff
