quitting apps.

2011-07-20 Thread Dónal Fitzpatrick
Hi all,

One feature of Lion that some of you may not be aware of is the fact that the
state of your applications is maintained when you exit. So, for example, if
you go to:

www.mac-access.net

and exit safari with cmd-q, the next time you launch Safari you'll be taken
back there. This is similar to the behaviour of Safari on IOS devices.

Now to prevent this, you have two choices. You can disable this behaviour
globally in system preferences|General. Alternatively, you can exit the app
using CMD-Option-q.

cheers,

Dónal

So bare that in mind when you are looking at something you should not (and I
mean a surprise Christmas gift for your loved one if you filthy minded people
were thinking otherwise), they could easily open Safari back up to be
presented with the last web page you were on!

Hello Mary:

And that is a good reason in my opinion Apple left the option for the user to
decide.

I have been wondering about this quit app feature and what happens if you've

just prior to your having to force quit it.
