Hi, For all practical purposes, either upgrade method is the same, they get you to the same place. Software update was traditionally used, but it doesn't matter. Best, Zack. Finally got my head around iTunes, Thanks Lynn!
Hi all Well, I guess others should get some credit here as well. But Lynne sat down with me this morning when she saw how frustrated I was getting with iTunes. She explained to me how the visual appearance changed when you do things like expose the sidebar. In fact, exposing the sidebar is the most helpful aspect of this, as it totally changes the behaviour of the application. It also makes sorting much more user-friendly and searching is also far easier. I am very behind, as is Lynne, on E-Mail. I think it was Sarah who suggested on list that I try that trick, so thanks. I'm now able to see all of the things I just wasn't seeing before and, now that I've got my head around it, I am coming to understand how powerful the new interface actually is. --- Gordon Smith --- E-Mail: gor...@mac-access.net Telephone: United Kingdom: Free Phone: 0800 8620538 Europe and other non-specified: +44 1642 688095 United States Of America And Canada: +1 646 9151493 Australia: +61 38 8205930 Or: +61 39 0284505 Fax: +44 1642 365123 Follow Us On Twitter: http://twitter.com/maciosaccess Skype: callto:mac-access-dot-net -- --- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net --- To reply to this post, please address your message to mac-access@mac-access.net You can find an archive of all messages postedto the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html or at the public Mail Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-access@mac-access.net/. Hi Courtney, Fraid I have only used Amadeus Pro to convert TV programs downloaded from the BBC via get iplayer automator to MP3. It would certainly be worth trying it on other types of video. thanks for the welcome
I am very new to the Mac world but not to voiceover. I have had my iPhone 3gs since January. I recently purchased an old Power Mac g4 aka EMac. Its running Leopard 10.5. I found a tutorial thanks to a lady named Esther. So, once I set up a mental hard drive for voiceover commands and become more use to it I figure I can then start saving up for a real Mac. Though, it keeps bugging me to do a software update, which I cannot because the previous owner did not get the system disk when theunit was given to him, I do nhot know the password. the user name is mac user. with it being listed as obsolete I doubt that I can take it to an Apple store to get help. - Original Message - From: Gordon, Lynne Tracy supp...@mac-access.net To: Mac OSX iOS Accessibility mac-access@mac-access.net Sent: Wednesday, November 16, 2011 7:02 AM Subject: Dual New Member Welcome Hello everybody It is traditional when new members join the Mac Access Dot Net email forum that Gordon and I try to welcome the new member(s) personally. We hope that you will find Mac-Access@mac-access.net a pleasant, friendly and worthwhile place to be. In here you will find a wealth of knowledge, and people with a variety of skill levels ranging from the total novice, to the application developers with advanced skills. Then there are those who don't yet own a Mac, but have a keen interest. We hope you will feel free to post your questions and constructive comment, whatever your skill levels may be. Be assured, there will be none of the ridiculing and flaming which we know takes place in other groups. That kind of behaviour is not tolerated in Mac-Access. Anything Mac OS and iOS is on topic for this group. In the case of virtualisation applications such as Fusion and Parallels Desktop, the configuration of the applications themselves, plus the configuration of the virtual machines is on topic. However, the configuration of Windows or any other operating systems within that virtual machine is off topic. The exception to that is if you're using another instance of OSX within the virtual machine. This has always been a bit of a grey area; but we hope this clarifies the position. lol. For me it was nothing but patterns. Once I recognized those I was good to go and was using the mac almost flawlessly with in about 24 hours. How did I do this/ I took it to class and took notes and just used it. I had some issues at first but they were resolved in a few days once I got the concept down pat. Re: Thanks so much! and another questionn!
Hello Desi, First of all, is the preview pane still showing? In other words, when you arrow down through the messages, does each one open in turn and get marked as read? If so, position yourself on the horizontal splitter that divides the headers from the message body, bring the mouse to the VO cursor, and do a double click. That should put the horizontal splitter at the bottom of the window, and you should be able to arrow down through the messages and press Return on the one you want to read. It should then be read straight through. This is how I read my messages. Can I search with Spotlight on my mac for files and folders that are on a drive on my networked PC? It seems like I can, but I don't know how to make it happen. Also, I have appreciated the help of this list since purchasing my Apple. You folks are very patient and helpful. I hope someday I will know enough to be patiently helpful as well.
