I don't know why kdepim3 fails to build on your mac but,

There is no need to install the whole of KDE environment to use Kate.
Kate is a part of kdebase3 so all you have to do is:

$ sudo port install kdebase3

;-)

The first of my failed dependancy installations is kdepim3. I tried
installing separately and this is

the result:

Could you mail me the entire buildlog? I'll take a look.

There's also this bug about kdepim3:

http://svn.macosforge.org/projects/macports/ticket/13063

Don't know if it's related.

You should indicate your version of Mac OS X, Xcode and MacPorts, and
what processor architecture you're using. If the above bug is not the
same as yours, you should file a new bug. Instructions are here:

Re: KDE wont build

2007-11-27 Thread Gregory Dodwell
Sorry about the sloppiness.

OSX 10.5.1
XCode 3.0
Latest MacPorts version (1.520)

Intel Core 2 Duo (iMac 20, 2.4GHz)

I don't have the expertise to tell if the error is the same ...
I had to manually download several files that wouldn't
fetch.
