Re: mac voiceover in braille monitor
A blog would be great for intermediate users, and I agree hole heartedly, it's more accessible than a wiki. However, we have to think perhaps about getting to those who can't navigate the net just yet as well. They don't describe how to quit apps and itunes isn't mentioned accept a little bit but otherwise it is very well written. I'm a bit concerned about Apple's documentation that comes with mac, and I think the tutorial should be more interactive in the sense that someone should demonstrate basic tasks while the person follows along. I feel they should cover basic tasks like using finder, serfing the web, sending email, word processing, and itunes, maybe one or two more things. They should also enclude the vo manual with mac and maybe give a short prompt when vo starts to press a key to read help and maybe brief instructions on how to read it. Re: Downgrading Itunes.
Hi Jesse, Jesse Bollinger wrote: Is it possible to get an older version of itunes? Or are you stuck once you've upgraded. It's possible to downgrade iTunes, but not easy in some cases, because the structure of the library may have been changed. So even though you downgrade, and fix up the record of receipts so that your current software installation state is not erroneous you may have to recover the old library structure in order to read the library. If this is about not being able to tab to the podcasts songs table and view your podcast subscriptions, I'm guessing this is exactly for the reason that Justin gave: the new version of iTunes set your podcasts view to Grid instead of List. The behavior you describe matches the symptoms exactly: tabbing in movies etc. is not affected if they don't have this view set but podcasts behaves doesn't cycle to the songs table with tab if this view is in effect. I recall when I upgraded to iTunes 8, my podcast library view changed to grid. Did you check what view setting you're in when you select Podcasts in your source table? This view will change with library. Select Podcasts in the sources table, then VO-M to the menu bar, press v to go to the View menu and arrow down. My guess is the as Grid is checked, and you want to set this to as List. You probably also have to restart iTunes after you reset this, because this is the new installation. Try this before downgrading. Do both the check of the view option and the restart. iTunes keyboard shortcut
Hi, I have a very large iTunes library and, ahead of receiving my new 32GB iPhone, I'm going through it and deciding what I want to have sync to the new phone. I'm essentially trying to go through and uncheck songs that I don't want to have sync and then will check the option in preferences to only have checked items sync. I'm wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut in general or through VO to quickly check or uncheck an item. I've figured out how to do this with larger lists and, I've noted that I can bring up the menu under individual items and select the appropriate action but this is time consuming. Any suggestions on how to do this more efficiently? --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: iTunes keyboard shortcut
Wow, that sounds like time consuming work. I recommend creating one or more playlists for your iPhone. assuming it has the same sync options as the Nano, you can set it to only sync with playlists you have checked.
