notification center

2014-05-24 Thread Jean
Hello All:

Ever since the last update of Mavericks, the notification center has been
driving me mad. No matter how many times I check do not disturb it keeps
disturbing me with this and that alert that I don't care about. Also, I am
getting these messages that say "bright, crisp, no faces." Is this something
to do with the camera? How can I make this nonsens stop?
Jean

Re: Question: How to get to mail tokens

2014-05-24 Thread Jim Gatteys
Well here's what I am doing!
first command-option-f brings up a search dialogue./ Then if I type in a
search string it will probably find that search string but then when I
downarrow it may or may not find another similar string. If I enter on that
string it will search for that string but I get no other searchable choices
like attachment or date of from or to. It seems as if all that is missing from
my mail window.
I never even was aware that I had those search options until it was discussed
on this list. I've been using mac mail since early 2007 I believe and never
have seen those options.

Re: VMware question

2014-05-24 Thread 'Chris Blouch' via MacVisionaries
I think this is default behavior or it's been so long that I forgot that
I had turned it on in some preference. Anyway, it's certainly possible
to copy/paste text from VMWare Fusion to a mac app. You just do
control-c for copy in Windows and command-v for paste on the mac unless
you have vmware set up to use command-c as well. Is it not working for you?

Re: capchas on osx?

2014-05-24 Thread Terje Strømberg
First i had problems register. They said i have to install the Rumola frst even
though it was installed and i gave up. The register link does not work. Now i
tried again on their site. I used the vo + right arrow until i came to the
$0.99 section and paid with PayPal. Then they used the PayPal email adress to
send me the login password after i have paid with PayPal. You get the password
after payment in email and use the email adress as user name. I may have
clicked on a button first.

First Rumola worked on a website. Next attmpt it did not. As a user said, i
logged in the Rumola again and it worked.

Take care

I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf.
I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper thrown in the trash!
Then God gave me a new heart and life:
His joy for my despairing tears!
 And now, every day:
"This I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:
 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
 his mercies never come to an end;
 they are new every morning;
 great is your faithfulness."

I am happy that I am not alone with this problem. I can not get rumola set

It would be nice if we could use web visum and firefox on the mac, but
firefox is slow and difficult to work with.

 Best regards Annie.

2014-05-24 Thread Nicholas Parsons
Just to be clear, the method we're explaining won't allow you to search by
mailbox. That you need to do in the favourites bar. It will, however, allow you
to search by contact, subject, attachment, etcetera and give you various other
options.

Can you please tell us step-by-step what you are doing and what is happening.
You said in your earlier email that nothing was happening, but obviously
something is happening just not what is expected. So please give us details of
what is happening, at what points is it not working as expected and what is
happening instead.

It sounds bazaar so far but I think we can still try to get to the bottom of it.

fs:iMac in excellent condition...

2014-05-24 Thread Cameron Strife
Hi all. Please write off list to make me an offer. I only accept
payment via pay pal and will only ship to a confirmed address in the
US or Canada. Thanks.

21 inch iMac for sale with OSX, iLife 11, power cable, Apple USB
keyboard, mouse, and bluetooth magic trackpad. Machine has no issues
and is in near mint condition! works great with OSX Mavericks as well
as Windows seven 64 bit... I will reformat the machine and do a fresh
install of OSX before shipping.

Features include aluminum case, 500gb hard drive, quad core Intel I5
processor, eight gigs of ram, superdrive, sd card slot, thunderbolt,
multiple firewire and USB ports, airport wireless, bluetooth, stereo
speakers, microphone, web cam etc.

In a room with no background noise, the machine is so quiet that it's
hard to tell when it's even running... The machine is very compact and
takes up hardly any desk space. The built in stand is easily adjusted
and the build quality is fantastic! It can also be mounted on the wall
if you don't have any free desk space.
