Oof! Nasty. Very, very, very nasty.

It’s quite fun, this. Don’t you find? :)

Re: Entering passwords for 1 password on Mac

2016-03-10 Thread Sabahattin Gucukoglu
I think it has something to do with the way VoiceOver handles cursor movement.
It makes me very uncomfortable, because it will probably some day lead to my
ending up with corrupted passwords in the database when I type and don’t check
back, or fail to reverse correctly in my head, especially if merely reversing
the passwords is not sufficient to detect character transpositions that
sometimes happen with this bug. Particularly bad when you’re entering your
existing passwords.

You can work around it, for now, by copy-pasting your secrets in. And as has
been said, the Safari extension (and, incidentally, the iOS app) don’t have
this issue.

Why the sudden interest in password managers around here, anyway? :)

Re: iPad settings navigation

Well, it definitely used to work in the past. Some regression or other, then.
Anyway, as of very recently, I have no iPad. iPhone 6S Plus is big enough for
me. Even my iPod has gone now; the battery in the 6S Plus is really good.

Strange, how times change …

Re: Entering passwords for 1 password on Mac

2016-03-10 Thread Andrew Lamanche
Hi,

This has been a problem for a while now, and I've reported it to AgileBits.
They promised to fix it but the latest upgrade has not fixed this problem of
passwords appearing backwards - even worse - half of the password will appear
backwards and then the other half is also backwards making it difficult to work
out what it was in the beginning. For me, it doesn't affect actually using
1password on a webpage when I issue command to fill in password but I still
want to be able to check what the password is should I forget it. Please
report to AgileBitts - they are very receptive, and it helps if more people
make a bit of a fuss.

Re: iBooks issue

2016-03-10 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Gary,

VO-s and VO-p both work for me, as do the commands for next sentence and next
paragraph. One thing I just checked, my mouse pointer is sitting on my desktop,
so have you got your mouse pointer following your VO Cursor and keyboard focus?
If so, try setting the mouse pointer to ignore the other cursors. I always have
this setting as I find that the mouse can destabilise VoiceOver.

Cheers,

Anne

 Hi folks,

I am building a page for my music business. I added a profile picture.
What I am having great difficulty with is solving the problem of not
being able to update my status on the page. There is no "what's on
your mind" or any field to post whatsoever. I looked at the settings
but cannot sem to find the one I need. I even tried some research but
 came up empty handed.

 Thank you for your insight.

Entering passwords for 1 password on Mac

2016-03-10 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
I am using VoiceOver to run 1 password 5 latest version on El Capitan latest
version on my iMac.

If I invent a password for a logon , say “dog21” then if I type “dog21” in the
password field in the detail table for my new logon it displays as “12god”. To
get it set to “dog21” I have to type “12god” into the password field.

Any ideas on why this should be? It is simple enough if the password is short,
but bad news if the password is long. Note that all other fields in the detail
for my new logon work correctly.

Best regards….

Paul Hopewell

Xcode playgrounds

2016-03-10 Thread Juan Hernandez
Hello,

I am playing with playgrounds in xCode.

I rated a new playground, and gave it a name, and said it was to be a mac os x
playground.

so I type the link of code println(“this is my first test.”)

I also went up to menu view, assistant editor, and then activated the show
assistant editor option.

Then I quit interacting with the source code editor, then did vo+right and I
think found the assistant editor. I interacted with it, and I get two
different issues:

1. I find a copy of my code in that editor.
2. It shows as empty.

What are the steps to use a playground to test code snippets in xCode 7.2?

Thanks in advanced.

I don't use Quicknav, so I wouldn't have figured that out. I have had the same

Re: iBooks issue

2016-03-10 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Donna,

Like you, I can read with iBooks on my Mac with no trouble. However, a couple
of things worth noting:
Having pressed VO-Space on a book title, I often have to turn VoiceOver off and
back on again to be able to navigate;
The text area is to the right of the Previous Page button and it always goes
busy for a short while before I can interact with it and read the book;
Quick Nav does not work in iBooks.

I can read by character, word, line, sentence or paragraph, but not by page.
Read All works fine.

Cheers,

Anne

Re: iBooks issue

2016-03-10 Thread Donna Goodin
Hi all,

I haven't followed this thread from the beginning, but I'm surprised. I agree
that the IOS app is much better, but on my Mac iBooks works reasonably well.
At least mostly. The interface is kind of clunky, and I get more busy messages
than I would like, but I have no problem reading book content. I can read
either by line, or just use VO-A to read continuously. Odd that my experience
would be different from that of so many of you.
Cheers,
Donna

Re: GoPro and other camera app

2016-03-10 Thread Scott Granados
Image stabilization is an issue. On my drones they have auto stabilization
features in the camera itself and in the gimbal. The only mounts I can think
of that I have experience with cost 5 or 6 figures and carry very large cameras
but are so good you could use them on horse back and still have a stable image.

Built in stabilization will do some good but for walking or mounting on a
harness you still will get jiggle with out exotic gear unless someone else has
some good ideas. I’m definitely open to a low cost solution or have others had
good luck with the built in stabilization features?

George, All I mentioned was that they are very easy to use. You insert a

It beeps which means the video starts, beeps again means it stops.

You can then remove the card and edit as you wish or you can use the

 that’s me.

 How’s that?

So the Go pro is pretty usable even with out the app. The nice thing
is you have a button on the side which is a simple start and stop
recording button and everything is dropped to an SD card where you can
copy it and work with the video. The APP is more of a file transfer /
file editing / simple movie making deal. You can do a lot of that
 with other tools.

Either camera should do well. Sony makes the censors for most cameras
 anyway.

 Good luck

Re: iBooks issue

2016-03-10 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
Gary,

I tried, just as you, to use IBooks on the mac a while back, as I was told it
worked really well. There is a possibility that in Yosemite, it did. I
confess that I never tried it prior to El Capitan. I found almost identically
the same results as you. I could read a majority of the interface of the app,
but the book content itself, regardless the book loaded, wouldn't read hardly
at all.

I should add that this isn't the case on I O S. On I O S, it works
beautifully. I did report this to Apple, but I never really followed up with
them about it, as reading IBooks from the mac isn't really something I'd
normally wish to do. I'd prefer to just use my phone, or IPad and do it. That
however said, I definitely can confirm that I am able to reproduce your issues.

Chris.

I recently installed El Capitan and hadn’t used iBooks yet, but tried it just
now.
When I opened iBooks, I went to the book shelf table with my list of books
and interacted with it. I didn’t see another window/table with the contents,
so I double-click on my book, to open it. A window opened, but VO only dinged
when I tried to move around. I had to turn VO off and on in order to read the
book. If I interacted with the scroll area, I could only read my book a line
at a time, but if I didn’t interact with it, VO would read all the text
continuously.

I’m fully updated on my ox x 10.11.

If anyone has any ideas I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you folks.

Workflow: getting images of a particular date

2016-03-10 Thread venky . 92

Hi,
How do I get images of a particular date in workflow?
I added the find photos where action . Tapping on the add filters option is not
giving any additional filters that I can select using Voiceover. Checked with
sighted assistance, tapping this is only giving an option to select an album .
However, I know this is possible for the fact that there is a workflow in the
gallery called Time Machine which uses a similar filter. What could have
possibly gone wrong?
 Thank you.

Re: Requesting uber rides from workflow for iOS

2016-03-10 Thread venky . 92
Hi,
I don't think reversing actions will work because, request uber ride action
takes the destination as input and gives the link to the ride as output.

Thank you.

I don't have that service here so can't test it, but have you tried reversing
the address and Ubar actions? Also, if you have Twitter, ask @WorkflowHQ and
I'm sure they'll help. Finally, I think there's an action for this already, in
the Gallery, which you could use instead of trying to make one.
