Sorry I should have shared this before.
Donations to Fort McMurray and the rest of the Alberta fire effort are
done via the Canadian red Cross.

www.redcross.ca

The beauty of this effort is that the Canadian government is matching
donations dollar for dollar, well over 50 million last time I heard.

Yes property can be replaced rebuilding lives takes more though.

You’re absolutely correct.

As of this morning the fire grew from 620 or so square miles to over 750.
However, the town is largely out of danger at this point as are the oil sands
operations which is the bread and butter for that town. Oil production will
begin ramping back up and the pipelines are being restarted, large parts of the
city still are with out power and water so it’s thought it may be 2 weeks or
more before people can move back in. Last count the count had risen to 2400
structures lost or damaged. Fire is still out of control is some areas but
things steadily are improving. Sounds unbelievable. I haven’t seen any fund
raising efforts online maybe someone will post one if they know of a reputable
charity handling the area.

I hear you, when I lived in California i lived in the mountains south of San
Jose and I believe it was 2008 when there were 3700 different fires started in
the local area by a freak lightning only (no rain) storm that went through the
area. Fire came close enough we had to evacuate but it was a short time as
they got things under wraps. It was horrible though, you couldn’t breathe
outside anywhere in the bay area, you couldn’t open your windows and the poor
people who lost their homes. Around me there were only a handful of houses
lost, in Canada last i heard they had lost over 1600 structures. I hope our
services down here are offering up assistance to get that situation under
control.

2016-05-11 Thread CHUCK REICHEL
Hi Helga,
I have a text edit doc that stays in my drop box folder which I edit from
either my El Capitan box or my mac pro box.
I think if you keep the doc in the "RTF
" format its cross platform usable.
Lately I've been getting that whacked out dialogue about only being able to
edit a copy of the doc when that happens I go to the drop box folder and hit
command I to get info on the text edit doc and un check the lock box for that
doc and everything goes back to coolness!
The pass word I'm referring to is when you go to check or un check the lock for
the doc it asks you for the computer pass word for your mac then you put it in
and move on.

Re: Applescript Use Voiceover Find

2016-05-11 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Are you getting an error? I am pasting a code snippet I used to move the VO
cursor to the sound menu extra a while back. I gave up on the script because I
wanted to option click the sound menu, but could not get that step to work.

tell application "VoiceOver"
tell vo cursor
output "Looking for sound menu extra..."
move to menu extras
delay 0.5
set info to ""

repeat until info contains "Sound"
move right
delay 0.75
set info to text under cursor

end repeat
if info contains "Sound" then
perform action
delay 0.1
End Tell
End Tell

Reviewing this code, I believe it actually clicks the menu (perform action) .

Another thing you might look at is the text library.

I believe you should be able to do something like:
select the first paragraph that contains "#"

Were you using the VoiceOver find or the application find?

Best wishes,

Jonathan Cohn

RE: Tim Kilburn

2016-05-11 Thread Simon Fogarty
And I believe to this point there has only been on life lost and that was due
to a car accident.

If there was any good way to look at this it must be that property can
eventually be replaced.
Lives are a little different
