One correction, if memory serves, once a person is registered to vote in a
specific location, they remain registered until they miss a US Presidential
election. After missing a Presidential election, the person needs to
reregister. Therefore, a dead person will only remain on the voter roles until
after the next Presidential election.

As for the example about the prestuffed metal balet box, There are a few cities
which were known for this behavior. Chicago and New York City both come to mind
as large practitioners of this practice, between 1890 and 1915. In both of

2016-11-09 Thread Karen Lewellen

Actually,
It can be tighter than this, depending on where the person is registered.
It is by election cycle, and how that can be defined varies.
Still it would be difficult to stay on the rolls if you miss more than two
cycles, sometimes if you miss only one.
For example I missed the 2008 presidential election, even though I did
vote in 2004. I had to register again in 2012.
what I am most interested in myself are the turnout percentages this year.
The numbers are unfortunately rarely a real majority. so I want to learn
both how many eligible voters did participate, as well as those who
voted for a different presidential candidate on the ballot instead.
Going back to the question though it is on a state by state basis even
if you are considered to be an overseas voter.

matter how they wished.;)

To answer your question though since it’s a great question, no we have no such
requirement. Once you register to vote you’re registered. Now there are
things that happen for example if a death certificate is issued that registry
entry should be removed but in practicality that doesn’t always happen. It
really depends on the individual state. In some states you don’t even have to
show identification to vote, in others you do. In some states they have early
voting meaning you can vote early either at a polling place or via mail. In
other states you have election day only. Florida is an example where you can
vote early, Michigan is an example where you can only vote on election day.
There’s been a provision in Texas state law that you can vote from space.:)
(Astronauts being Houston Texas residents have a provision to vote
electronically from the space station as an example) SO things differ. TO my
knowledge though there’s no need to check in every year.

Great question.

To bring this squarely on topic though, I wish there was a way to vote securely
online. I realize that’s very difficult to do safely but how nice would it be
to just fire up the old iPad or laptop and vote. We could be a lot more direct
instead of so representative like we are now but the security of such a thing
just couldn’t be guarantied.

Just got Amadeus Pro and am learning how to use it. I was using space bar to
play and the arrows to rewind and fast forward but now all of the sudden the
space will activate whatever VO is focused on not play and pause and the arrows
instead of rewind and fast forward instead move me through the application. How
do I get back to the arrows and space bar controlling playback. Also how do you
quickly jump through time without suing the arrow keys and how can you see the
time you are at for a recording? Thanks,

Okay. I think I know what happened to you. Same thing happens to me from time

you’re good to go. Don’t know why that happens but I hope that fixes it for ya.

Re: Amadeus Pro Question

2016-11-09 Thread Ray Foret jr
First, let’s deal with the run time. You can find it in the tool bar over on
the very right hand side. Now, let’s discuss quickly moving through a file.
Sounds like you need to know how to zoom in and out. So, here goes. To zoom
out as much as possible, press the dash key, (just to the right of the zero key
on the number row) This will give you the greatest degree of playback curser
movement possible. To zoom in, which will do the opposite, use the plus simble.

Now, have you figured out markers yet? Believe me, using markers really speeds
things up quite nicely. I suspect this is a good time to talk about curser
routing. Actually, you have to cursers to deal with. You can think of one of
them as a kind of playback head. It moves when you use the right and left
arrow keys. But, bear this in mind, you are still not moving the actual
insertion point; just the playback head curser. So, let’s say you get to a
spot where you want to drop a marker. You’d press space to stop, and then,
press Command+y. This will instantly rout the actual insertion point to the
spot your play head is on. IF you press the p key, you set a marker. There’s
another way to set a marker which will open a nameing dialog but we will not
deal with that here. IF you find yourself in a situation where you want or
need to rout the playback head curser to the insertion point, just use
shift+command+y. That should be enough to at least get you started.

Oh, when you select a piece of audio, the usual rules apply. Copy to clip
board is command+c. Paste is Command+v and so on.

HTH.

Uploading music to iTunes without uploading to apple music library?

HI there folks,

I have a rather large music collection I wish to upload to iTunes, but not the
cloud for I have a capped data connection. How do I make sure iTunes behaves

Re: VMware v8

2016-11-09 Thread E.T.

Remy,
I am far from being a power user of VMware. Here is what I do. I do
not have an SSD so boot times are agonizing. After you hear the Windows
sound, wait a while longer to allow your Windows to completely boot up.

Then do a Cmd G to grab the keyboard control away from the Mac. You
still can access the Mac menu bar but try not to forget which
environment you are in. Sometimes I press a Mac shortcut in error and
then have to find my way back to Windows.

Next, do Cmd Shift F to enter full screen mode. Do not use Unity.

You do not need to eject or reconnect an external drive. G o to the
menu bar, find the Virtual Machine menu which is between the View and
Window menus. Arrow down to the USB and Bluetooth option, right arrow
and find your drive and VO space on it. You will hear a sound when its
connected.

Re: Uploading music to iTunes without uploading to apple music library?

2016-11-09 Thread Ray Foret jr
Just go in to prefs window in to general and make sure that music in the cloud
is turned off. By default, this is how it will be. Bear in mind that any
music you load gets added to your iTunes library. Were I you, I’d let the
files themselves get added because that seems to work best.

iTunes keystrokes for removing Duplicates

2016-11-09 Thread Angus MacKinnon
I am going through my iTunes 12.52 Library and removing Duplicates. Some Songs
are labeled Local and the same song is labeled Download. I guess I want to keep
the Songs labeled Local and Downlload. It is a very slow process to remove the
Duplicates. Is their a key sttroke to remove a duplicated item that has the
cursor highlighting the item? Thank you.

Monetizing YouTube videos

2016-11-09 Thread Phil Halton
I have a video on YouTube that's guarded over 16,000 views, and another that's
gotten over 7000, I'm wondering if they're worth monetizing, and how that is
done. What is monetizing all about anyway?

Re: Amadeus Pro Question

2016-11-09 Thread Jenine Stanley
Brian,

You can also move to specific points in a file if you know the approximate time
with command-g. Type in the time using the following format. Minutes followed
by quotation marks then seconds with no spaces.

To find the current time in the recording, move to the tool bar and interact
with it.

I highly recommend Jonathan Mosen’s book on Amadeus Pro if you choose to do
more with this app. It gives a good foundation for using the app.

Thanks all. Yes I have been listening to the fantastic podcast series that Pete

Re: Monetizing YouTube videos

2016-11-09 Thread Scott Granados
All that means is you get money for the views. You can also have advertising
added to your video that you get paid for. With the number of views your
talking about it’s not all that much money. It’s not bad to turn on though,
you can get a check each time you eventually reach a threshold. Google has a
lot detailed on the topic that you might read for further details.
