Ok, a simplified VMWare Question

2017-02-18 Thread Sharon Hooley
Hi again,

Well, I hope this is my last question on this topic. I’m having a hard time
finding the old podcast by Mike Arigo about using VMWare. I’ve searched on
Mystic Access and Cool Blind Tech, as well as Google, and so far I haven’t
noticed it. Is there a direct link I can use? So my million-dollar question
is: Since cmd+g is not listed in the key routing menu in VMWare Fusion 8.5,
how do I get to the mapping area, with Mac Book Air, El Capitan, with
voiceover, and are there special instructions I should follow? By the way, I
followed some other instructions for routing my capslock key to become an
insert key for the screen readers modifier key, using Carabiner and Seil, so
I’m wondering if they could be used to make the toggle work?

Thanks again,

Re: Key Mapping and Profile

2017-02-18 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Yes, I believe you set up a keyboard profile with key mappings for both Windows
shortcuts and Macintosh passthrough shortcuts. Then you associate a profile
with a set of Virtual machines.

So any change in the key mappings will effect all virtual machines that use
that profile.

Best wishes,

Jonathan

Re: Logos Bible Software

2017-02-18 Thread Vinny Pedulla
I actually have been using the Logos app on iOS for the last couple years. It
is very usable and I can also read both Greek and Hebrew Braille on my braille
display.
There are times where you have to actually use your finger to get to different
parts of the screen, however, it is still very accessible and you can read all
of your text.
I also have found that using vertical navigation helps at times.

Dear Mike,
You are very welcome. I'm glad it's finally worked out for you. I had no end
of trouble in the past doing exactly what you had to do and learnt the hard
way. I use 4 languages so it was quite a learning curve. And yes, it took me
a long time and lots of frustration to work out that i needed to restart
Voiceover for the languages to be properly recognised.

Good luck and i'm glad I was able to be of some service to you.

received permission from the list mod to post this message. If
interested, please write to me off list at: came...@cameronstrife.com

 Hello all:

I'm using my mac now, and most of my work inside my studio is
recording for Voice over tallents or Narraters.
so, what is the best app that can do this? I need an app that I can
change the effect after recording, also has some good noise gates,
some helpful materials to make my work more faster.
 what do you all recommend:
Protools, Amadeus pro, Audacity? or what?
of cores not sound forge, because it will not allow us to control the
 fx after recording.

 Thanks

Re: apple vps

2017-02-18 Thread Scott Granados
Sean, a VPS is a virtual private server. What this is is an instance run in a
large hypervisor environment also known as a cloud provider. Digital Ocean is
an example of a unix VPS provider.

Just like you run virtual hosts under fusion large scale providers host
millions of these instances.

Thanks

Re: The best Profissional recording app for Voice over and Narration

I was going to suggest protools. I’ve played with this on the Mac a few times
now and eventually want to buy a system. That’s likely overkill for voice
recording but it definitely gives you the professional features and you
interoperate with the standard.

Re: Logos Bible Software

2017-02-18 Thread Mike Arrigo
There is another way to read logos content. Go to http://biblia.com
The mobile version of the site works much better with screen readers, so as
soon as you get to the site, click about biblia and then choose to switch to
the mobile view. At this point, sign in with your email address and password.
You should then be able to access your content.

There’s also a paid but very good tutorial by Jonathan Mosen of that program.

2017-02-18 Thread Sandi Jazmin Kruse
Hi,
Most of my stuff is recorded with a little mac book that have audacity on it.
If that is not good enough for y’all, get a r09, or other hardware
recorder, with an sd card in it , and when done lay it on your mac and
add effects.

I’d go for Amadeus Pro with RX 2 plug-ins or what ever plug-ins you can find
that will meet your needs.

Amadeus Pro is en excelent compromise between Audacity, (which I think will not
give you what you want) and Pro Tools, which may perhaps be overkill for what
you describe your needs as being.

The best Profissional recording app for Voice over and Narration

2017-02-18 Thread Ramy Moustafa

Thanks

Re: Firefox

2017-02-18 Thread Moop Curran
Hi,
How about Softorino video converter or media human youtube converter. I'm
sorry, I don't hav a web address for those two apps, just google them. The
softorino one is about $20 U.S. and the media human one is free, it has a paid
option, but it's not necessary. And with the softorino one, you get either a
week demo or a 2-week demo, I can't remember offhand.
I hope this helps.

Re: Adding languages to a new MacBook

2017-02-18 Thread Michael Busboom
Hello Andrew,

Although I was able to download German and it initially worked perfectly, I
blew something else, and German has disappeared.

When I tried to add a German keyboard in the Mac preferences, I did something
(I don’t know what) and I not only lost German speech, but I did not install
the German keyboard either. I feel like such a Klutz!

I made my mistakes in the Apple preferences menu, language and Regional
settings pane.

Although I can currently only choose between English voices, it takes my Mac at
least five seconds to switch from one to the other, something which occurred
instantaneously prior to my flub-up. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Re: Adding languages to a new MacBook

2017-02-18 Thread Michael Busboom
Thanks so much for your note, Andrew. I had done precisely what you had
directed me to do, but I made one big mistake. Although I waited fifteen
minutes for the new voice choices to download, that apparently wasn’t long
enough.

After reading your note this morning (my time) I went through the process a
second time, grabbed that cup of coffee (never a bad idea) and after twenty
minutes, I had the two German voices I wanted.

There was one slight hiccup, however, and I initially thought that I had done
something wrong again. When cycling through my voices, the German voice names
were announced in English with my default voice, Alex. The problem was easily
resolved by turning VoiceOver off and then on again. So all is well, and I’d
like to thank you.

Best regards, and thanks again,

Mike
