Re: podcast on installing windows with bootcamp accessibly

2017-12-06 Thread 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries
Strange that bootcamp needs one to create a bootable stick, given how
long that process takes.

It's quite common to install from an iso file, which bootcamp uses to
create the USB stick. So, why can't it just install from the iso image
like is so common in multiple environments, including with VMware on
Mac, just to cite one example.

Just curious.

High Sierra & Wifi Password

2017-12-06 Thread 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries
I appear to have successfully updated my Airbook to High Sierra, but I'm
stumped trying to reconnect to my wifi network which has never had a
problem before.

I'm being prompted to enter exactly 64 hexadecimal characters for my
password.

Well, I can likely hash such a thing up and arguably copy and paste it
in, but this seems wrong. Shouldn't I be able to simply enter plain
ASCII text like I always have?

So, what am I missing here?

Thanks for all guidance, and my apologies if I missed this issue in
previous posts here.

I believe it will go to sierra if it's the same model I have here.

But personally I'd put Yosemite on it
It's just something about Yosemite that I like more than sierra
May be just as simple as disk utilities.

Hi all. While I have a souped up iMac as my main machine, I've kept a
2009 white mac book core 2 duo machine with two gigs of ram around for just
simple stuff;google, youtube, skype, that sort of thing.

I'm replacing the hard drive with an ssd but would like opinions regarding what
version of OSX to drop into her once I install the new drive.

I don't use this machine a lot but like with all my technology, I like to keep
up with updates. I remember that snow lepard was fine, lion/mountain lion were
fine, Yosemite seemed fine from what I remember... I don't remember mavericks
or el capatan on this machine so don't have an opinion either way on those two
versions.

When we come to siera and high siera though, I'm not sure if the machine just
can't handle the strain these new versions are putting on her or if it's the
tired mechanical hd slowly kicking the bucket but it's almost unuseable, even
with no apps running. I know it's pushing it but the machine was listed as
compatible for siera and the installer for high siera proceeded without giving
me a compatibility error or anything...

So, once I drop in this new ssd, what version of OSX should I go back to and
more importantly, how do you find them exactly? In the app store, they don't
seem to be available anymore;just high siera...

And no, I can't use super duper for example to clone my imac because 1, it's
running siera, and 2, the ssd is pretty full and I don't want to deal with
getting rid of all that stuff on the mac book.

Any feedback from anybody out there?

Thanks,

Cameron.

Its a Charter.net account and it works fine on iOS and Windows. What am I

Re: tracking down mavericks or yosemite?

2017-12-06 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

If you downloaded these various MacOS versions from the AppStore when you did
the yearly upgrades, they may be available to you in the AppStore under the
Purchased tab. I agree with John to a point, in that the 2 GB of RAM may be
your biggest hurdle. Bumping that up to 4 GB would do you a huge bit of
benefit. That, along with the SSD that you’re installing will allow that
machine to go nicely up to El Capitan. I’Ve found that El Capitan runs much
more efficiently in comparison to Mavericks on that age of machine, but with
the caveat that it has the 4 GB of RAM. In fact, I have a poop-load of 2009
iMacs still chugging along smoothly on El Capitan and won’t move them past
10.11.6 for performance reasons.

If you do wish to get the RAM upgrade, it is quite quick and easy to do the
upgrade yourself. Just go to www.everymac.com to determine the correct RAM and
you should be able to find some relatively cheaply just about anywhere.

Later...

And no, I can't use super duper for example to clone my imac because

Any feedback from anybody out there?

tracking down mavericks or yosemite?

2017-12-06 Thread Cameron Strife
Hi all. While I have a souped up iMac as my main machine, I've kept a
2009 white mac book core 2 duo machine with two gigs of ram around for
just simple stuff;google, youtube, skype, that sort of thing.

I'm replacing the hard drive with an ssd but would like opinions

I don't use this machine a lot but like with all my technology, I like

So, once I drop in this new ssd, what version of OSX should I go back

And no, I can't use super duper for example to clone my imac because

RE: Laser printer recommendation wanted

2017-12-06 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Eric,

I am a huge fan of the Samsung monochrome Ethernet-ready laser printers.

I have owned one for the past 4 years and love it to death. I have recently
set up 3 newer models for friends of mine who love theirs, also.

As long as you get an Ethernet-ready model, you can connect it to your home
WiFi router. When connected, you can control the printer, via any web browser
on the same network.

Let's see, I think the one I pcked up a couple of months ago costs about $129
from Best Buy.

I purchased a laser printer for the same reason as you expressed. I got tired
of the ink drying up in the inkjet models. Since toner is a powder, it will
not dry up so you can use the printer for as long as the toner lasts.

Good Luck,

Mark

Hi listers,

I’m looking for a printer to use with my Mac and iPhone. I’ve bought
two Ink jet printers in the past few years and they have been difficult to use
as they use a touch screen with no audio. Also, as I don’t print often when I
do it seems they continually dry out and then don’t print.

I’d like to find a laser printer, as I think it is less likely to dry up. I
hope to find one I can control from the Mac or iPhone. Color is not important.
 Scanner copier would be nice.

I’d appreciate some recommendations from folks having success with printers and
voice over.

RE: Mail Accounts

Eric,

The message move issue is a well known bug that has already been resolved. The
fix will be forthcoming in the next update to High Sierra.

So just hang in there a little longer. (smile)

Hi Mark E T and others,

I recently installed High Sierra on one of my Mac book Pros. It caused
a problem where sound preferences would not load. Despite sighted help and
many calls to tech support the only thing I could do was do a clean install.
That got the sound back.

The next issue is mail. Like E. T. . I have most accounts working. My
exchange account is funky. Even with Apple support we can’t figure out how to
make it possible for me to move messages to the many mailboxes I have built
under the in box. All other accounts iCloud, Comcast, and Yahoo are working
normally.

I have a cable company account with Comcast. They are using imap now.

During many mail ups and downs I had to delete and open accounts in some cases.
In the situation with Exchange it has not solved the problem, other times it
did.

Taking accounts on line sometimes helped., sometimes not

At this time I’m not changing from Sierra on my other MacBook Pro so that I can
manipulate the exchange emails.

Laser printer recommendation wanted

2017-12-06 Thread Eric Caron

I’d appreciate some recommendations from folks having success with printers and
voice over.

10 texting tips to gain control of iMessage - CNET

2017-12-06 Thread M. Taylor
10 iPhone texting tips you'll wish you'd known all along

These are the not-so-obvious tips iPhone pros use.
December 6, 2017 5:00 AM PST

If your iPhone ($699.00 at Apple) is constantly binging and buzzing and you
are continually apologizing for missing texts and not responding in a timely
fashion, then it might be time to dig in to some of the features in iMessage
that can help prevent your texts from taking over your life. Let us begin.

1.
Mute group text alerts
The ability to mute group texts is, by far, my favorite feature of iMessage.
When you get thrown into a group text, you can mute the alerts as the group
banters back and forth. From the list of messages, swipe left and then tap
the purple Hide Alerts button. You'll see a little crescent-moon icon to the
left, indicating that its alerts are snoozing. (You can always swipe and tap
Show Alerts if you want back in on the alerts.)

2.
Give a group a name
If you've got multiple group text conversations going, it can be hard to
keep track of which group is which. Maybe labels can help. You can quickly
name a group text by opening the conversation, tapping the "i" icon in the
top right and then tapping Enter a Group Name at the top. Now, the name you
give it will appear on your messages list instead of a less-than-useful
partial list of names.

3.
No repeats
I have a strict one text = one alert policy. Alerts for text messages repeat
once by default, so your phone will chirp or vibrate when a text arrives and
again two minutes later. But once -- and only once -- is enough. Go to
Settings > Notifications > Messages > Repeat Alerts and choose Never to stop
text alerts from repeating.

4.
Set a special tone for that special someone
Not every text that arrives carries the same level of importance. Your buddy
texting you about fantasy football isn't the same as your spouse or
significant other texting about being late. Give that special someone in
your life a personalized text alert tone. Open the Contacts app, tap Edit
and scroll down to Text Tone and select something other than Default. You
can also change the default vibration tone here, too.

5.
Block someone
If someone is pestering you via text, it's easy to block that number. From
your text conversation, tap the "i" in the top right, tap the name or number
at the top and then tap Block this Caller. Finally, tap Block Contact to
confirm. (You can always go back and tap Unblock this Caller if you change
your mind and want to resume texting with a blocked contact.)

6.
Reply from notification
You don't need to open the Messages app to reply to a message. You can reply
directly from a text notification. Just 3D Touch (long-press) on the
notification and you can send your reply.

7.
Hide previews
Of course, text notifications mean prying eyes might peep a private
conversation. You can turn off text previews completely or just from the
lock screen. Head to Settings > Notifications > Messages and scroll down to
Show Previews and choose either When Unlocked or Never. You can keep alerts
enabled but when a banner alert appears to signal the arrival of a text
message, it will just show the sender's name but no message preview if you
have Show Previews disabled.

8.
App icon shortcut
To fire off a quick text, you can 3D Touch the Messages app icon and start a
New Message or reply to one of three people with whom you were recently
texting.

9.
Send quick reply
You can also use 3D Touch to fire off a quick response. From the messages
list, 3D Touch on a message to open a preview of it and then slide your
finger up to reveal three canned responses. If none fits, then you can tap
Custom to open the message and type out your own.

10.
Forward without copy and pasting
I'll end here with my second favorite tip, after the muting of chatty group
texts. I once thought you needed to copy and paste the text from a text
bubble in order to forward it, and it's always a bit of a pain to highlight
text and copy it on an iPhone. Little did I know there is a secret
forward-message feature in iMessage. Tap and hold on a text bubble, tap More
in the menu that pops up from the bottom and then tap the arrow in the lower
right corner. Now, the text will be entered into a new message, which you
can now send off to whomever you please. Way easier than copying and
pasting.

For more texting tips, learn how to use the bubble, screen and other effects
that iOS 10 introduced in 2016. And click here if you have ever wondered why
some texts are blue and others are green.

How to protect your credit card online, CNET

How to protect your credit card online - CNET
It pays to protect yourself when shopping online to avoid getting more than
you bargained for.
With high-profile data breaches potentially affecting millions of people,
here are some card-specific tips to keep in mind when virtually swiping your
plastic.
The basics
. Use a credit card. Debit cards often don't have the same level of
fraud prevention and protection
. Only enter details on secure sites. Look for an https connection and
valid security certificates
. Don't send credit card details over email or social media
. Keep your antivirus software and browsers up to date

Turn on your credit card's added layer of security
Many credit cards will have an additional layer of security that might not
be enabled by default. MasterCard's SecureCode is a one-time code you enter
every time you make a transaction on a supported site.
Verified by Visa also requires a passcode to authorize a purchase. On top of
these safeguards, some banks also have their own verification system in
place that works in place of SecureCode and Verified by Visa. This may
include the bank sending a one-time PIN or security code to your phone as a
second layer of authorization. Check with your bank or financial institution
to see if one of these options is available.
Both Mastercard and Visa offer Zero Liability protection against fraudulent
transactions for both online and offline use.

Consider a separate card for online transactions
For those who want to keep online purchases completely separate from
everyday credit card transactions, prepaid cards are one option.
They allow you to load a set amount of money at the time of purchase. The
advantages are plentiful when it comes to using a prepaid card for online
shopping, but the big one is that even if the card's details are compromised
somewhere along the chain, there is a limit to the amount of money that can
be taken.
Virtual credit cards
Some banks and financial institutions let you generate a virtual credit card
number. This is a single-use number linked to your real card that often has
a fixed spending limit and an expiry date. Even if a merchant is compromised
and your details are exposed, thieves only get this temporary number. Bank
of America calls this ShopSafe and Citi's version is Virtual Account
Numbers.

A third-party option is Privacy, a browser extension for Chrome that links
to your bank account. Click the icon in the Chrome toolbar to generate a
virtual card on demand and load it with an amount of your choosing. You can
create burner cards so numbers self-destruct after use. Privacy is currently
only available in the US.

A payment system such as PayPal, Mastercard Masterpass, Visa Checkout,
Amazon Pay or Apple Pay can add an extra layer of protection between you and
the merchant. Your payment details aren't revealed to the store when you use
one of these services.
Watch statements for any unusual transactions

While many banks have sophisticated 24/7 monitoring systems designed to
detect fraud and unauthorised credit card use, it's important to keep an eye
on your financial statements. If you spot anything suspicious, call your
bank immediately.
Hamid Karimi from Beyond Security also suggests letting your bank know where
you do your online shopping and to block certain geographies. "For example,
if you live in the US, a purchase conducted in Eastern Europe is
illegitimate," he says.

Check your browser settings
Turn off your browser's autocomplete settings to avoid it storing your
credit card number or personal information.
In Chrome, go to Settings and select Advanced. Under the Passwords and Forms
section, click Autofill settings. Delete any credit card information that is
automatically stored, then toggle off the option to use autofill.

Toggle off the Autofill switch altogether, or just choose to have addresses
rather than credit cards stored.
In Firefox, go to Preferences. Find the Privacy panel and look for the
History drop-down box. Choose Use custom settings for history then uncheck
Remember search and form history.

In Safari, go to Preferences, AutoFill. Uncheck the options to remember form
data, including the credit card option.

Uncheck the credit card option in Safari.

In Edge, select the More Actions button, then Settings and View advanced
settings. Uncheck the save form entries toggle.
MasterCard
Be sensible about where and how you use your card
Reduce the chance of falling victim to a large-scale breach by not allowing
the retailer to store your credit card details. Enter your credit card
details each and every time you make a purchase.

Make sure to use a separate password for every account you make with an
online retailer. A password manager is the easiest way to generate and store
unique passwords across sites.
It might sound obvious, but don't type your details out in public view where
people can see your scre

Target launches 'Wallet' mobile payments platform, continues to ignore Apple Pay

AppleInsider - Frontpage News - Monday, December 4, 2017 at 5:03 PM
Target launches 'Wallet' mobile payments platform, continues to ignore Apple
Pay
Target on Monday introduced Wallet, a new mobile payments platform that
allows customers to pay for items at brick-and-mortar Target stores, and
reap savings, using the Target app on iOS and Android.

Announced in a press release, the QR code-based system lets customers
provision Target REDcards on their device, which can be used in conjunction
with digital savings like Cartwheel offers and Weekly Ad coupons at
checkout.
According to the company, Wallet is up to four times faster than other
in-store payment types. Which payment systems were tested as part of
Target's impromptu study is unknown.
"Wallet in the Target app makes checkout easier and faster than ever," said
Mike McNamara, chief information and digital officer at Target. "Guests are
going to love the convenience of having payment, Cartwheel offers, Weekly Ad
coupons and GiftCards all in one place with Wallet."

Unlike NFC-based solutions like Apple Pay, Target's Wallet relies on
generated QR codes that can be scanned at a point-of-sale terminal.
To pay, users are instructed to open the app, tap on "Wallet," scan coupon
barcodes with an iPhone's camera, scan their Wallet barcode at the POS
terminal for Cartwheel offers, then press "Pay." Provided screenshots also
show options to make cash withdrawals from an associated debit card and
apply gift card credit, but those features were left unmentioned in today's
release.

Target is the latest big-box chain to roll out an in-house payments solution
instead of adopting existing technologies like Apple Pay. Walmart, another
Apple Pay holdout, debuted the QR code-based Walmart Pay to all U.S. stores
last year.

It was Target and Walmart that led the charge against Apple Pay
implementation in favor of in-house technology developed by the Merchant
Customer Exchange consortium, of which both companies are founding members.
Dubbed CurrentC, the mobile payments solution was touted as a segment
competitor by MCX until the pilot program fizzled out last June. MCX
subsequently sold the defunct platform to JPMorgan Chase earlier this year.

Earlier this year, a Target customer service representative gave Apple
device owners false hope in a tweet saying the retailer was working to
integrate Apple Pay in its stores. Target quickly denied the claims, noting
it had no plans to make Apple Pay available beyond in-app purchases.
Those interested in taking advantage of Target's Wallet technology can
download the company's app from the iOS App Store.

Editing and managing WAV files on a Macbook Pro

2017-12-06 Thread andy
Hi all.

It appears that I've opened a tin of worms with this one as within a couple of
hours, I've received about 6 responses with loads of fantastic ideas and advice.

So it is clear to me, I did not invent audio recording for the blind! Haha.

For those who responded, I'll give your advice a great deal of consideration
and may well get back to yoou or the list later, responding to your opinions.

One of the members asked a very basic question and I should have considered
this more before wrighting to the list in the first place . He said:

"Tell us what you are trying to achieve on your Macbook".

It's clear that I should have explained myself better in my original message so
I'll try to do this now to let you know what I'm actually looking for.

Most of the responses were concerning Multy Track recording functions on a
desk-top device, with Mixers and multy inputs and microphones and using
expensive software like pro tools and garage band etc. This is a dream of
course, but not what I'm about at this time.
I wish I could get in to this, really I do, but it's way above my abilities.

First let me tell you how I record an event:

I have a Zoom H6 multy track digital hand held recorder. Neal Ewas considers
this device to be the best recorder, at it's price, that he has ever come
across, and that's saying something, coming from Neal.

It has 6 quarter inch XLR microphone inputs and is shipped with two clip in
microphone types. One is an X Y microphone and the other is is called
something like a left side mic.

Both of these microphone modules clip onto the front of the Zoom.

They do a great job and I've never considered buying an additional 4 Sure
microphones for the quarter inch inputs.

The device is recording at 24 bit 196 KLHZ WAVe Format which has been
considered by some to be at the blue Ray range. So that's great. The quality
is fantastic and I can go from pub to pub or community centers and record an
event.

When I get home, I plug the Zoom into my computer and copy all the files into
my music folder.

Then I run goldwave; double the volume, Maximise the volume and chop it up.

I then delete the files I have chopped off, then using Nero, burn the recording
onto a CD and Flash drive.

This is all I'm wanting to do within my macbook pro.

I think now that Pro tools is really for the professional musician as is Garage
band, though

Phil advised me to consider Amadeus pro and to get a hold of Jonathan Mosen'S
tutorials called Amadeus maestro, as this was roughly similar to Goldwave.

Jonathan is a great guy who knows what he is talking about, so for now, I'll
follow phills advice and leave the more technical stuff to the guys who
actually know what they are doing. Haha.

Thanks very much for all your responses and if I was 20 years younger I'd
follow your advice and become a professional, but alas? hahah.

Very best wishes.

Andy.

Re: Editing and managing WAV files, using voiceover on a Mac

2017-12-06 Thread andy
Hi Chuck.

Pro Tools is a whole new environment and like you say, with multiple
microphones of various types.

Check out the Zoom H6, 6 track portable digital recorder.

I purchased it about two years ago and I'm managing to keep my head above
water, recording in Blue Ray format, with a device that can fit in my pocket.

While you are at it, check out the Zoom, 7,8 and I think 10.

We are now getting into real money now and you would need to seek the opinion
of Mr Neal Ewares, concerning the quality.

I suppose if pro tools is accessible on, for example, a macbook pro, then
that's a different question. If only. But I think that pro tools is too large
a learning tool for me.

Very interesting stuff, nevertheless, eh, for us blind guys, being able to do
this in any case!

Very best wishes.

Andy.

Apple Pay Cash leverages Discover Network for new virtual debit card

2017-12-06 Thread M. Taylor
AppleInsider - Frontpage News - Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 12:35 PM
Apple Pay Cash leverages Discover Network for new virtual debit card
In order to bring the Apple Pay Cash debit card to life, Apple has utilized
credit card provider Discover, whose Discover Network debit services power
the virtual tap-to-pay card for money transfers and in-store purchases.

Apple Pay Cash transactions are handled through the Discover Network payment
network, a division of Discover Card. Discover is the fourth-largest credit
card brand in the U.S., behind Visa, MasterCard and American Express,
boasting nearly 44 million customers as of mid-2016.
Discover officially announced its relationship on Tuesday, soon after Apple
Pay Cash officially went live in the U.S.

Users can also open the iOS Settings application, then Wallet, and select
their Apple Pay Cash card to see under "Card Details" that the virtual debit
card is powered by "Discover Debit." By default, the card has a PIN number
of "" that cannot be changed, for when Apple Pay is used at a terminal
that requires a PIN number for debit transactions.

Apple Pay Cash card services are provided by Green Dot Bank, while the debit
card rails are handled through the Discover Network.

Users must still have a separate credit or debit card to transfer money to
an Apple Pay Cash card -as of Tuesday's launch, there is no way to transfer
funds directly from a bank to the Apple card. Money saved to Apple Pay Cash
can, however, be transferred off of the card and into a bank account.

By default, funds received through Apple Pay Cash are stored on the card
where they can be spent at the store, as with a normal debit card, or
transferred to a bank account.
Though retail purchases are possible with Apple Pay Cash, the service's
primary function is an easy way to transfer money between friends through
iMessage. With iOS 11.2 and watchOS 4.2, the Apple Pay Cash app for iMessage
enables money person-to-person money transfers from within a text message
conversation.

The new service is Apple's response to existing offerings like Venmo and
Square Cash.
For years, Discover has been quick to adopt new capabilities as they launch
in iOS through its own app, including features like Touch ID and later Face
ID, as well as widgets and watchOS support. In October, the company began
allowing customers to claim cashback bonuses for Apple Pay transactions
directly through the iPhone's Wallet app.

Microsoft officially releases Edge browser for iOS, but without iPhone X or iPad optimization

2017-12-06 Thread M. Taylor
9to5Mac - Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 4:37 PM
Microsoft officially releases Edge browser for iOS, but without iPhone X or
iPad optimization

Microsoft today has officially released its Edge browser on iOS. The company
first made the app available in beta last month, but it's now available for
everyone who fancies installing a Microsoft browser on their iPhone - but
don't expect iPhone X or iPad optimization.

As far as features go, Microsoft Edge brings better integration for Windows
users to iOS. For instance, there's a "continue on PC" feature that allows
users to easily switch between their PC and iPhone - eerily similar to
Handoff and Continuity between iOS and macOS.
Since Edge is a browser after all, you get features such as favorites,
history, private mode, and reading list. Passwords and login information
also sync across PC and iPhone, while there's a built-in QR code reader as
well. Voice search allows users to ask a question and have Microsoft Edge
look it up in "more natural, familiar ways" than traditional searches.
One major omission is iPad support. This means that you'll still have to
juggle your information across two browsers if you're a big iPad user.
Furthermore, the app is still letterboxed on iPhone X.
Familiar Microsoft Edge features like the Hub allow users to organize the
web in a way that cuts through the clutter, making it easier to find, view
and manage their content on-the-go. Microsoft Edge is designed for Windows
10 users to browse the web how they need to, wherever they are, without
disrupting their flow.
Microsoft Edge is available on the App Store now as a free download. Are you
going to switch to it from Safari or Chrome? Let us know down in the
comments.

Craig Federighi says multi-user Face ID support is not on Apple's roadmap

2017-12-06 Thread M. Taylor
9to5Mac - Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:58 AM
Craig Federighi says multi-user Face ID support is not on Apple's roadmap

A month ago, we commented on the fact that Face ID seemed like a step
backwards from Touch ID when it comes to multi-user support. Now, new
comments from Craig Federighi suggest that multi-user access was never even
intended for Touch ID.
Giving feedback to Apple is often the best way to make your voice heard. Not
everyone expects an email back from "Hair Force One" himself.
In an email response to reddit user spsheridan, Craig Federighi said this:
Currently we're focusing Face ID on single user authentication. (even
TouchID's multi-finger support was really intended to enable a single iPhone
owner to unlock the device with a finger and thumb on both hands, not to
enable multi-user authentication.)
He also says that Apple will keep this feedback in mind as Face ID plans
evolve.
The interesting thing about this statement is the way that Touch ID evolved
over the years. From slow, single-user support on the iPhone 5s to fast
account switching on the Touch Bar MacBook Pros.
After using your iPhone X for a month do you miss the multi-user support of
Touch ID or are you pleased with Face ID? Let us know in the comments!

Re: Editing and managing WAV files, using voiceover on a Mac

2017-12-06 Thread Nektarios Mallas
Hi Andy.
If you only need to record process and manage stereo recordings and some multi
track capabilities, I think that your best bet is to use Amadeus pro.
If you need more advanced stuff such as recording multi track to your mac
through a good quality audio interface etc, then you could use ither garage
band or logic pro X.
If you can be more specific about what you want to do, we can help you better.

nektarios.

Re: Editing and managing WAV files, using voiceover on a Mac

2017-12-06 Thread Phil Halton
Andy, I would think that Amadeus pro would be your best bet, as it is roughly
equivalent to Gold wave in its functionality. However I would strongly suggest
getting Jonathan Mosen‘S tutorials called Amadeus maestro to get acquainted
with some of the corky behavior of Amadeus.
ProTools and the others will set you back quite a bit of money, but Amadeus
with the tutorials will only be about 60 or $70.

Editing and managing WAV files, using voiceover on a Mac

2017-12-06 Thread andy
Hi all.

Since losing my vision, my interests have moved from Photography to Audio
recording.

Using the Windows platform and Goldwave alongside a high end digital recorder,
I do a lot of work for local bands and quires and such.

Now that I'm finally getting into my Mac, I wish to start using Garage Band
with Voiceover for doing all the work my Windows machines were doing.

I know there are loads of musicians out their with low vision, so assuming they
may be recording their work, I thought I'd ask the list if Voiceover using
Garage band was possible.

Thanks.

Very best wishes.

Andy.
