Re: A problem downloading a voice.

2018-08-06 Thread Leo Bado
Yes, I’m perfectly able to download apps on mac Appstore, in fact, I
dleted all English voices exept Alex of course and then downloaded them
again, one by one and after that I selected all check boxes for American
English including Susan in order to download all the voices at once, but
I never successed.

I select the check box for Susan and no matter what I do it always says;
Will be downloaded but nothing happens.

pretty weird huh?

Personally for me, I went into High Sierra Voices, selected and
deselected a few check boxes items that were newly selected said
downloading 0% and didn’t not change. I then close the voice selector
read a few e-mails and then returned to VoiceOver Utility. At that
point I was able to use the newly selected voices.

I don’t believe there is a standard library CLI  for managing voices
much like the diskutil can manage disk drive administration, and in
any case, the underlying services would still need to be the same.

Take care,

Hopefully they give us EarPods, or cheaper, with the coming iPhone, then.
Also, I hope they give us Dolby Atmos support, as Samsung has done, to
really increase audio quality.

lowered prices on iMac and mac book air, both with solid state drives, I7 processors, and upgraded ram...

2018-08-06 Thread Cameron Strife
Hi everyone. Mark gave me permission to post to the list. If
interested, please write me off list at: came...@cameronstrife.com

I've dropped the prices again for my mac book air and imac. Specs below.

Prices include packing, shipping, tracking, and full insurance to the
lower 48 states via USPS 2-3 day priority mail delivery but do not
include pay pal fees.

Both machines will come with a clean install of Mac OS High Sierra.
I'd give you a discount if you bought both machines at once.

Apple MacBook air 11 inch laptop with 2.0gHz Intel dual core I7
processor, 8gb ddr3 ram, 512gb ssd, glass touch pad, thunderbolt, hd
camera etc. Excellent condition with no issues of any kind! Includes
case and genuine Apple charger.
$1099

21 inch Apple iMac with Intel quad core I7 processor at 2.8gHz per
core with turbo boost up to 3.4gHz, 16gb of ddr3 ram, internal 256gb
solid state hard drive, internal 1tb 7200rpm mechanical drive, Intel
Thunderbolt, Firewire 800, airport wireless, bluetooth, sd card
reader, superdrive dual layer dvd burner etc. Machine is in good
condition with no heating issues or hard drive performance etc. (There
is a small dent on the right edge of the monitor portion but this will
not get any worse and does not effect the display quality according to
a couple of sighted people I had check it out. It is an easy repair
but I'm not attempting it. In any case, it's purely cosmetic.)
Keyboard, mouse, and power chord included. I can also include a 1
terabyte USB 3.0 external hard drive that's formatted to work with
both mac and windows so you can have a three drive setup for
audio/midi work for example. I have been running Mac OS and windows
ten 64 bit via bootcamp on this machine and the performance is really
snappy! Windows seven 64 bit also worked very well on here.
$1449

Re: A problem downloading a voice.

2018-08-06 Thread 'Shawn Krasniuk' via MacVisionaries
Hi. Closing the Voiceover utility or turning it off makes no difference. These
voices aren't just used for Voiceover, and therefore if the voice doesn't
download, they won't work system wide either. I'm using the Mojave developer
beta, so I can't say if its an issue with the OS itself. Just keep trying to
download the voice. Good luck.

Shawn,

Hopefully they give us EarPods, or cheaper, with the coming iPhone, then. Also,
I hope they give us Dolby Atmos support, as Samsung has done, to really
increase audio quality.

2018-08-06 Thread Simon Fogarty
But they have to cut costs somewhere,
Hell guys and girls apple aren't doing very well in the stock market these days,
They need to make more money!

A trillion dollars doesn't go far

I'm kind of thinking that may be they should cut the price of their products by
40% and they'd make a bigger killing buy selling even more products.

And Steve Jobbs should be the next president!

This is so annoying like they were costing them so much to put one of them in
the box. I have one from my IPhone 7plus. I have not completely givin up on
apple but to be honest for the most part this phone works fine. I miss the
headphone jack because it's something I use with my other devices. No I don't
wish to spend over 150 on airpods.
