RE: a question about partition maps on a very large thumb drive?

2019-07-30 Thread Simon Fogarty
Use GUID,

That way you have the option to work with both windows and mac,

Also I myself would format as xFat so you can use it across platforms.

If your only going to use it with apple computers then use APFS
But GUID is what your asking for.

Subject: a question about partition maps on a very large thumb drive?

Hi, here’s the situation I am trying to get a very large thumb drive ready for
use. When I go to format the drive and disk utility. I asked what partition map
what I like to use. Which of the following choices makes the most sense? GU ID,
MBR, or Apple partition map?

The thumb drive in question is 250 GB. This machine does have a boot camp area.
Does the type of partition map matter in the long For instance if I set this
to “guid ” or should it stay and be Mbr to allow for both operating systems
to access this drive? Any thoughts?

Sincerely Maurice Mines.

The macaron: finally available

2019-07-30 Thread Yuma Decaux
Hi everyone,

This is Yuma, and I have and update.

Some of you might remember that I was working on a digital tape measure. I had
also used as my proposal for the 2017 Hollman prize.

Since then, I have been working hard on new prototypes with my partner, wand
the 2018 James Dyson award for its design and innovative features.

I am pleased to announce two things. First, though I didn’t get the 2017 Holman
prize, I actually won this years prize. I will be going to San Francisco for
the induction, and will go on a world tour to meet various scientists and
engineers to make astronomy and all of its affiliate fields accessible to all
of us. If anyone of you is in the San Francisco bay area, let’s get in touch. I
would love to meet some of you in person.

Second bit of news, we have a limited early release pre-order of the Macaron
which you can check out below. We are offering this limited release, so that we
can change the software to your liking and follow your advice on how you would
want a digital tape measure to work, Beyond the features we have already
created so far. This is because we have an automatic firmware update feature,
which will allow us to update the associated IOS app, and we really excited to
hear your recommendations and put new features to the device.

Have a look with the link below, and if you have any questions just email me.

https://www.oseyeris.com/product/the-macaron

As an earlier doctor, you will get the high-quality finish unit, and the
ability to upgrade to a new device at 50% of its retail price when it comes out.

The macaron has gone through multiple iterations, and is going through trials
in the medical field, the clothing industry, as Wellers wood workshops across
Australia.

We are also getting a new software developer who will help us with the android
app, as well as create new exciting features alongside my own participation in
the project.

Again, I’m really excited to announce these two bits of news, and hope to hear
from you. Have a great week all :)

Yuma

Re: The universal keyboard feature

2019-07-30 Thread 'Bill Gallik' via MacVisionaries
It is quite likely that “Hand Off” is appropriately configured in Settings.
But, there are times when the handshake between devices is interrupted and this
incredibly useful feature fails to work. It has happened to me while updating
a note via my Mac Mini; then when I open the file on my iPhone the copy there
has not been updated.

Typically, rebooting the lagging device corrects the issue.

NOTE: By “lagging device,” I mean the device where the updates have not been
made and “Hand-Off” should have furnished said updates.

Hello,

I just send an e-mail to myself with the content I am trying to transfer
between systems. When handoff works, it is great, but with I can't depend on it
always working while email between personal and work accounts always seems to
work. Yesterday I was reading an article about testing web designs with people
with disabilities and wanted to share it with the design and development group
at work. I clicked the share button and selected AirDrop but my work system
never showed up. So, it was much easier to go down to the "Mail" share sheet
and then send the document.
Best wishes,
