Another link Query

2021-02-19 Thread Kerryann Ifill
Hi again:

So thanks again for the assistance with creating the desktop link for items in
safari.

I find however that the google calendar app works better in chrome. However, I
can’t seem to find where the “more tools” option is to create the desktop
shortcut, any ideas?

Secondly, I have links on my PC desktop to perpetual meetings for the zoom
client. How would I duplicate similar on the mac’s desktop?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Kerryann Ifill

Hi, guys none of these options work. The VO-command-J has exactly the same

That’s a government site that you can fill out and print forms.

Re: Another link Query

2021-02-19 Thread Brad Snyder
You can create a desktop shortcut using Google Chrome, much the same as with
Safari.
1. Open Google Chrome, and go the the desired website.
2. Go to the Menu Bar using VO + M, and open the File menu.
3. Arrow down to Save As, and press Enter.
4. Give your shortcut a name, and select Desktop as the location where you
would like the item to be saved, and then select and press Enter.

You can use this same procedure to save links to Zoom meetings on your Mac’s
desktop, using either Google Chrome or Safari.

HTH.

Hi, thank you for the grouping suggestion. I was able to get inside the

It is very odd navigation.

And yes, I actually tried this on a Windows machine with Narator and Edge. It
couldn’t read it either.

One way to check if it is mapped to any mac/voiceover function is to vo+k for
keyboard help mode where key commands are announced when
pressed.

Web sites maxing resources in Safari.

2021-02-19 Thread Jessica Moss
The following url:

https://omnicommander.com

Is currently maxing all the resources on my Mac, and this is after having to do
a fresh install of Big Sur, due to what I thought the issue was (Citrix Server
not uninstalling correctly and burying itself in multiple places on my computer
to the point where removing it was too much of a pain.)
However, even after erasing my main drive, reinstalling Big Sur, and trying
to launch the site again, which we’re currently revamping, and I’m needing to
test for accessibility, all it’s doing on my end is causing my fan to run
harder than it should, and Safari to constantly display busy messages. Could
someone please let me know if this is happening to anyone else, and what I may
be able to do at this point to fix it?

I am using a 2020 13 inch MacBook Pro with 16gigs of memory and a quad core I5.
As soon as I open the page I keep getting safari busy messages. I cannot even

2021-02-19 Thread Greg Wocher
Hello,
It appears it might have something to do with javascript. Once I opened up
safari and disabled javascript, the page loaded. I was able to navigate it
without all the busy messages.

Re: Web sites maxing resources in Safari.

2021-02-19 Thread Greg Wocher
Hello,
First you need to go into safari preferences and enable the developers menu.
This is under the advanced settings. Once you have the developer menu enabled,
you can disable javascript from within it.

2021-02-19 Thread Karen Lewellen

Well, to provide contrast.
I am not using a mac at all, but a Ubuntu shell, with a lower graphics
browser.
Although I did not dig deeply, the page opened, with links presented. In
theory, fine example of what can be progressive web design, laying a good
floor, then creating style sheets to address the clearly odd busy issues
happening at the more high end graphical scale.
