All that will do is sink the library. The way devices set the view is a
separate and annoying issue.

Re: Trying to run Applet to make Wordle accessible, how do I modify the URL when creating a new bookmark

2022-01-30 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Wow editing bookmarks on IOS is not exactly intuitive. I believe you have to
first add the bookmark and then open up the bookmarks list and click the edit
botton at the bottom of the screen. Then you should be able to find the
Bookmark you just added and edit the URL.
HTH!

You might want to check the Downloads folder.

That's where they end up on my Mac after downloading from the Audible website.

Re: Trying to run Applet to make Wordle accessible, how do I modify the URL when creating a new bookmark

2022-01-30 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi Jonathan,

Yep. That’s what I eventually figure it out. That’s pretty crazy. I don’t know
why Apple makes it so hard to do this. I eventually gave up on the Mac and I’m
trying to make it work on my iPhone. I’ve gotten a little bit farther, but it’s
still not working as it seems like it ought to.
Cheers,
Donna

Re: Trying to run Applet to make Wordle accessible, how do I modify the URL when creating a new bookmark

2022-01-30 Thread Brandon Olivares
I use an app called TextExpander which expands keyboard abbreviations into
longer text. I took the JavaScript from that accessible Wordle site and made it
into a snippet in that app. Then I just make it paste into the address bar when
I'm on the Wordle page and that works perfectly.

I think there's also a shortcuts option in system preferences that might work
the same way.

Re: Trying to run Applet to make Wordle accessible, how do I modify the URL when creating a new bookmark

2022-01-30 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
I’ve gotten the applet to work on the site, the only problem is that I can’t
see the word that I entered which would be really helpful. Are you able to see
the word that you entered?
Thanks,

Oh! That’s interesting. Well, I’m glad you’re supposed to be able to see it. I
guess I’ll try again tomorrow and see if I have better luck. I just got the
applet to work this morning so it’s possible that some thing was weird on the
site. Maybe if I close everything out and reopen it tomorrow I’ll be able to
see it.

Authentication Is Not Responding?

2022-01-30 Thread Fazil M.
Hi, Group.

In Catleena days, when the computer went to sleep mode after remaining idle
for a while, pressing arrow-keys several times and touching the power-button
used to start VoiceOver and awake the computer to fully functional state.

Since Montray, however, VoiceOver doesn't come up and the computer does not
come out of sleeping mode by pressing arrow keys repeatedly and by touching
the power button. VoiceOver starts only when I enter my password. The
computer doesn't work even when Voiceover is running. For instance, Safari
or TextEdit do not work at all and do not accept any keystrokes.

When I try to restart the computer from the menu, Voiceover says:

'Authentication Is Not Responding' and I have to shut down the computer and
restart it. This is simply a big pain in the neck.

Is this a normal and accepted behavior now?

Is there any work around it?

Thanks!

This is not the way it should work. My computer is much older than yours, and
so does not have a touchID power button. I suggest that you go into system
settings and turn off and back on touchID and see if that helps solve your
issue. I have found that sometimes I am not having arrow keys perform right
after sleep and I need to restart VoiceOver.

Thank you very much, Jonathan.

Just little more detail; should I go to Menu, System Preference and then where?
To settings?

Thanks!
