Re: Mac VO friendly banks?
Hi Scott, I have found that Brookline Bank out of Brookline Mass does indeed work very well. This is one of the reasons I am staying with them instead of going to a bank just down the street in the next block even though they have a talking atm machine. The only problem I have had, is that I'm getting a Safari busy when I try to log off. I am going up to the Genious Bar tomorrow to have them take a look. I had the problem just after upgrading to Lion. Re: docuscan plus
Hi Dennise, I use Docuscan Plus all the time and it works great. I am using the Hovercam, but have a Canoscan lide 90 which I bought from Serotek several years ago. After you scan a document, you must first save it in the cloud then reopen it and then save to your hard drive. You can then erase it from the cloud. If you should want to keep it there, you can password protect it. Re: Abisee?
Hi Donna, I must get my two cents in here. I completely agree with David. Docuscan works even better then their previous scanning software did. It doesn't take long at all to scan a page. I have found the results totally accurate. Of course, this does depend on the quality of print on the page. Hi Myrna, When you run Docuscan, does it give you the Hovercam as an option? There is some software which you can download from the Hovercam website for the Mac. Hi Dennise, If you do not see the track names, you need to go to your preferences in Itunes and click on track name. If the tracks are on the Gracenet datebase, they will be imported. If not, you will be notified that they are not on the datebase. This of course means that someone has not entered them yet. Hi Dennise, Yes, when you rip a CD, the file is converted to say an MP3 file. This willl happen to each track until all the tracks have been converted. Hi again Carolyn, Unfortunately, it does seem that we as Mac users sometimes get short shrift. Maybe we can somehow get this situation resolved somehow. Hi Carolyn, I bought Abbyfinereader $99.00 figuring that it would be an inexpensive way to scan. It would not work with my scanner which is a Canoscan lide 90. When Docuscan came along, I deleted the other one and just considered it a bad job. The problem is that we are given outdated scan engines so as I see it, there is nothing really out there for us. I can understand people's concerns about having personal stuff out on the internet and paying $299.00 but I would rather do that then waste money on a program that doesn't work. Hi there, I was trying to do a right-click to bring up the menu to convert music files to play in Itunes. It was working, but when I tried to do it the other day, nothing would happen. Hi Lynn, Yes, I did close the program and then reopened it again and I was thanked for activating it. First, I click on Start, then go to the internet and find the file I want and download it. It only seems to download a little bit of the file over and over again. I have to abort the operation. Other then that, whatwas there, sounded perfectly fine. Thanks for your help. Hi Matt, I could never get Vuscan to work. I just received a notice from SAMobile saying that if you are a member, you can get Docuscan for $199.00 until May. Re: will be starting my first mac class
Hi Sara, When I first went to the Apple store, you could feel that they were a little doubtful as to whether they could do the training or not. Apparently, i impressed them enough with the little I knew about VO that they were willing to give it a go. I'm sure they got as much out of the classes as I did. If nothing else, I hope that I paved the way for some other blind person if they decide to take classes in the future. By the way, the price couldn't be better $99.00 for the year, 50 classes. Hi Chris, No, I haven't used any of those devices so far. I went into the track pad settings On Jan 16, 2011, at 4:24 AM, Chris Moore wrote: > Hmmm how odd, I have one too and it seems to work fine. Magic Track Pad
Hey Everybody, I just rejoined the list and it is great to still see a few familiar names here. I bought a magic track pad and wasn't able to do to much with it. I tried changing some of the settings to adjust the sensitivity but it didn't seem to make any difference. So , I am just getting along with the keyboard.
