Re: How do I save a voice memo sent from my wife's iPhone?

2012-05-05 Thread Louie P. (Pete) Nalda
Hi,
if you control click on the voice memo file in the email, is there an option to
save as? If so, you could save it somewhere, then use ITunes' "Add To Library"
function to navigate to where you saved the file, then hit ok. It should then
be in your iTunes Library. You might even be able to put it in the Voice Memos
playlist.

Anyone else hate the way Ebay works with Zoom?

2012-03-02 Thread Louie P. (Pete) Nalda
When you see an ebay page, and you scroll up to look at the picture, you can't
just zoom in on that and move around. Instead you're presented with a little
virtual magnifying glass, that shows the image off to the side. That doesn't
do us much good, unless we zoom out with Zoom in the mac. I find this very
annoying, and was wondering if ya'll though it would do any good to contact
ebay about this? The old way was so much nicer where you could just see
different angles in a normal picture. What do you all think?

Re: VO with Zooms

2012-02-22 Thread Louie P. (Pete) Nalda
Hi,
In my case I actually have Zoom set at full magnification, which I guess is
20x. I do back it down to 18x every now and then. I do not like using Mail in
preview mode, as it does elicit some of the behavior you mention. Please note
in my last message, in system prefs VO options, Anything not mentioned is Not
checked.

Re: VO with Zooms

2012-02-21 Thread Louie P. (Pete) Nalda
Hi,
I do this all the time. Here's what I have mine set. in Zoom: Zoom follows
keyboard focus. Zoom moves continuously with keyboard focus. In voicover I
have: keyboard follows Voicover cursor, Vo Cursor follows keyboard, and
insertion point follows VO cursor, and VO ignores mouse cursor. Unfortunately
I can't get skype to work. Email me for a phone number if needed.

Has anyone ever emailed accessibil...@apple.com to ask for accessible tables?
I don't do any really heavy word processing, and mostly use zoom, but I could
see where this is a problem for those who can't see at all, or for me when my

Re: Major Finder Problem Caused by Dropbox!

You're very correct, as a Dropbox user, I'd love to see this fixed, should I
need to use Dropbox with VoiceOver on. I use mostly Zoom now, but there may
come a day. I haven't tried this yet to see if this causes problems on my

Re: Switching to a Mac from PC

2012-01-07 Thread Louie P. (Pete) Nalda
Just out of curiosity, can you name other areas of superiority of ZoomText over
Zoom besides what I've mentioned? And do you think maybe these extra features
add to the instability problems the OP mentions? I'm just curious, as Zoom
does seem to run very flawlessly on the mac, limitations aside. And you don't
have to pay $150 for upgrades every time the browser or OS is updated (I'm only
stating what the Original poster said earlier). I think knowing what features
ZT has that people want could help the folks at apple know how they can best
improve Zoom. Myself, I never really miss the features I had with ZT and
Windows. I get very close using Zoom and VO together on my Mac. Ymmv.

Re: Hello

I think that the biggest difference you'll have is a slight learning curve
using VoiceOver as opposed to Jaws or other Windows screenreaders. I myself,
am not the one to ask, but do invite others with hands on both sides to give
you more details. As for compatibility with things like blackboard and Word,
again, I'm not sure, as I worked in Electronic publishing in school, and most
of our machines were macs, and I'm more of a Zoom user than a VO user, except
when my eyes fatigue. If you're going into programming or networking, I feel
the mac is a nice choice because you have BSD Unix built right in, and if need
be, can work directly from the terminal.

Re: IPad

2011-10-28 Thread Louie P. (Pete) Nalda
Not that I'm aware of, but there are a lot of iPad users on the viphone list
which is http://groups.google.com/group/viphone/ Hope it helps.

Re: a note on microphones for macs

2011-10-28 Thread Louie P. (Pete) Nalda
I don't know if many folks realize this, but headphones for iPhones, and iPods
with built in mics, do also work on the mac. I've never tried it for anything
but just messing around in garageband, and the quality probably isn't that much
better than the built in mic, except closer to you, but it does work.
