I have been using a keyboard made by   Iclever that I bought at Amazon. It is very nice, has a row of number keys at the top. It folds in from each side and is quite small almost small enough for a large hip pocket. The charge lasts a very long time, and I am very satisfied with it. The number row at the top is slightly more to the right than you would anticipate but otherwise it is very functional and I use it to take notes with. I am as good on this keyboard as my Mac keyboard. just search for the brand name and you will find mini model  On Dec 4, 2023, at 3:09 PM, macvisionaries@googlegroups.com wrote:

Now I have a new MacBook Pro with Sonoma and I love the thing except for the notification center. I never used it on the MacBook Air and I don’t want to use it on the MVP either. Re: tip: reading 'mastering the macintosh with vo' ON THE MAC

2014-08-13 Thread Pat Pound
actually it is quite easy to see the table of contents by pushing the list
button on the iPhone screen.

 Hi everyone,
I am not sure about the legalities of this but since ibooks on the mac is
rather inaccessible with a braille display and even though you can use a
braille display on ios it just does not feel as comfortable as reading
braille on a mac to me.
So, i got this tip from an acquaintance of mine and thought i would share.
Since this is a free and apparently unprotected ibook (this does not
neccessarily go hand in hand, some paid ibooks are protected others are not).
It is actually possi ble to read the ibook on the mac with safari. Epub
apparently is just a container, at least the text of the ibook is some kind
 of html.
 to do this:
 - imho its easiest to download the book on ios, make sure to open it as well
 on that device.
 - then open ibooks on the mac, it will ask you for your apple id so it can
 sync with icloud
 - open the book on the mac once as well.
 - then go to the finder and use the go to folder commando (cmd+shift+g) and
 paste the following path
 ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks/Books
this is the folder where apple stores the ibooks that you have downloaded
 onto your mac.
The books are given a random number, in my case since the book was the last
one i added it was easy to find just by looking at the date modified column.
 - go to that folder and then to the underlying ops folder. Here you will find
 the chapter files.
Its perhaps a good idea to copy the whole book to a different folder so that
it will be easier to find in future.

Problem with windows password recognition in vmware fusion

2014-07-14 Thread Pat Pound
I have a macBook Pro and vmware fusion and win 8.

Today when I launched fusion and it asked for my password, it would not take
it.

It reads star when I type in each letter of the password so I would think the
field is activated.

But once I select ok then it rejects it saying incorrect password, then tells
me there are windows updates and where to go to install them.

I am quite certain I have the right password and that my caps lock key is off.
I haven't been able to think of how to solve this. Any help?
