Re: [Bulk] Re: twitter client for the mac

2013-03-25 Thread Tammy
Hi,

I think my problems with it have more to do with lack of ability than anything
else. Does it have to be open to let you know when tweets come in or can I be
running another program with it backgrounded and still let me know I have
tweets? Are there keystrokes that will help me be able to use it easier? I’ve
been playing around with it but it seems there’s a bit to rember so it’s been
frustrating.

Again, Thanks,

Tammy

Night owl should alert you if you have the boxes checked for new tweets, DM's,
and mentions. It's also nice as the notification center will alert you to at
least DM's and mentions.
Is your quick Nav off? Then you can arrow up/down through your current buffer
to read/reply. Presss enter to reply, and shift+enter to reply to all.
Command+left and right arrows will move you between buffers.
Hope that's enough to get you up and running. If you need more help, give a

Hi Tammy, I had similar issues when I installed this program. I got a good
explanation from a fellow lister. I saved it. Here it is. Hope it helps.

When you start it, the focus should be on your main timeline (once you log in
of course). From there, use cmd-right or left to move through your timelines
(home, mentions, DMs, favorites). Up and down arrows will read tweets, provided
Quicknav is off, and for all other commands, have a look through the dropdown
menus, specifically the tweet and timeline menus. You will also wanto to open
preferences with cmd-comma, go to the compose tab, and disable the username and
hashtag autofill options.

Hi Tammy,

Go to preferences in Night Owl with command+comma. Go to the toolbar, interact
with it, and navigate to the notifications button.
Stop interacting once you've pressed the notifications button. Make sure you're
on the notification tab, as opposed to the general tab, and you'll have options
of checkboxes you can check. 2 of those are for DM's and mentions.

 Hi,

One question I forgot to ask, where do I find the checkboxes to alert me to
dms and mentions? I looked in notification center but couldn’t find
them...Story of my life recently with this computer.

Night owl should alert you if you have the boxes checked for new tweets,
DM's, and mentions. It's also nice as the notification center will alert you
to at least DM's and mentions.
Is your quick Nav off? Then you can arrow up/down through your current buffer
to read/reply. Presss enter to reply, and shift+enter to reply to all.
Command+left and right arrows will move you between buffers.
Hope that's enough to get you up and running. If you need more help, give a
 holler.

 Hi,

I think my problems with it have more to do with lack of ability than
anything else. Does it have to be open to let you know when tweets come in
or can I be running another program with it backgrounded and still let me
know I have tweets? Are there keystrokes that will help me be able to use
it easier? I’ve been playing around with it but it seems there’s a bit to
 rember so it’s been frustrating.

 Again, Thanks,

 Tammy

 Hi list,

Is night owl the only accessible twitter client for the mac? I either have

I’m doing wrong or point me in the right direction to get a more accessible
