Device firmware update. You have to put it in this mode before jailbreaking works. Push and hold sleep and home at the same time. Keep them held for about 4 or 5 seconds. Release the sleep button but keep holding the home key for about another 4 or 5 seconds. Release the home key. This may take some practice to get the timing down pat. Chris Gilland. Hi Michael, So to summarize, ios 6.1 is just around the corner. Second, as soon as that comes out, then shortly afterwards, it is likely that the untethered jailbreak for ios 6.1 is ready as well.
