Re: Cut and paste from Mac to iphone

2020-03-27 Thread Eric Caron
Hi Robert and others,

Robert’s suggestion to turn off Screen Curtin and then try hand off worked for
me!

So for now hand off problem solved.

Now that is some strange bug.

Thanks Robert and everyone for sticking with me through this problem solving
adventure.

I actually find this feature a useful time saver and a way to write
understandably on the iPhone.

Great team work.
I wonder if having screen Curtin on causes other issues.

Now I can move on to my next puzzle I have not been able to solve on my own!

Appreciatively,

Eric Caron

Sometimes, when the universal clipboard doesn’t perform as it should, I go back
to the source and re-highlight and do the copy action again. Usually things
work as expected the second time.

Hi,

When it comes to the universal clipboard, there are some considerations. I
don't know the specific time restriction, but there is one and I believe that
it is less than 30 seconds, may even be 10 or 15. So, It is best to have the
iPhone open and ready after copying the text from the Mac. Also, the Edit item
in the rotor is not always in the same location, sometimes you need to turn
quite a few times to find it. Lastly, if it doesn't work for you, confirm that

Re: Cut and paste from Mac to iphone

2020-03-25 Thread Brad Snyder
I experience that same issue sometimes on my Mac mini that is still running
High Sierra. I have learned to cycle VO off and then back on again. This
usually fixes most gremlins.

I think it might have actually been in the app switcher.

Re: Cut and paste from Mac to iphone

2020-03-25 Thread Petrus Tuerlings
I know simple things that have worked for me when something should work but
doesn’t, is to turn it off and back on again. So disable handoff on both
devices and restart them and then enable handoff again. You probably don’t need
to restart the devices but it doesn’t do any harm.
This may not help but it’s worth a go.

Re: Cut and paste from Mac to iphone

2020-03-25 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

You need more than just Bluetooth enabled. You need Hand-off turned on for
both, Bluetooth on, and both on the same WiFi network of course. Hand-off is
in the General pane of System Prefs on the Mac. It's also in General of the
Settings app on iOS/iPadOS.

Later...

get a edit option with paste. Now it doesn’t show up.

Any ideas how to trouble shoot this useful function?

Cut and paste from Mac to iphone

2020-03-25 Thread Eric Caron
Hi listers,

Today, for the first time since upgrading I tried to copy text into my
Mac clipboard and paste with my iPhone.

I’ve done this a few times in the past and found it helpful.

I have bluetooth on both Mac and iPhone turned on.

I copy the text on the Mac. When I enter a text field on the iPhone I used to
get a edit option with paste. Now it doesn’t show up.

Any ideas how to trouble shoot this useful function?

Mack is Mac book pro 2015 iPhone is 10 S. iOS 13

Thanks,

Eric Caron
