Re: Downloaded Yosemite

2014-10-17 Thread Matt Dierckens
I downloaded it this evening, and when I came back in here to check the
download, the mac was completely frozen, to the point of where I had to go into
recovery mode and reboot the mac that way.
I then restarted, opened the app, and it locked up my mac.
Very frustrating. I'm running an early 2011 Macbook Pro.

I didn't even do cmd-q. I just went to applications and copied and pasted it
elsewhere and went right back to the installer to continue.

Re: Downloaded Yosemite

2014-10-17 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

When it finishes downloading, the Installer will open. Instead of pressing the
Continue button, press cmd-q to Quit it. Now, go into your Applications folder
and locate the Install Yosemite package and copy/paste it to another location.
You can use the original to install it on the computer that is currently
downloading it and use the pasted copy to install Yosemite on your other
machines.

HTH.

Downloaded Yosemite

2014-10-17 Thread Edward Green
Hi,

I'm currently going through the very slow process of downloading Yosemite.

Is there any way I can use the version I'm downloading to update multiple Macs
or do I need to download it on each one? If the download is stored somewhere,
please could you tell me where so I can transfer it?

We have a few in the family, and while demand might slacken off in the next few
days speeding up the download, downloading it each time looks like it might get
tedious.

Thanks,

Ed
