Re: Buying VMFusion 7 Pro.
The VMware comparison charts make no differentiation between which guest OSs can be virtualized under Fusion. The Fusion standard editions (I'm still running 5) support the various flavors of Windows and Windows Server along with Linux. The Fusion Pro is geared towards IT professionals who want integration with vSphere in an enterprise environment pluse a myriad of other advanced features. If you were running a Mac Pro with tons of memory and lots of GPU memory it might be advantageous to have Pro as it will allow you to allocate up to 64Gb of RAM and also specifically allocate GPU memory for running hoggish graphics rendering apps like AutoCAD. Re: Buying VMFusion 7 Pro.
Hi. Ok I do not know. My brother told me, that the difference on the vm fusion and the vm fusion pro is that the vm fusion only lets you run windows and the pro version lets you run other virtualisation systems too as linux. But I am not an expert. Best regards Annie. Den 08/09/2014 kl. 22.38 skrev 'Chris Blouch' via MacVisionaries : > Odd, I had never heard this before. Odd, I had never heard this before. I thought you could run Linux on any kind of vmware. I got my 7 Pro last night so I'm waiting for the next version Yousemity (I can't even spell it) but you all know what I mean as I'm going to do a clean install as I always do and this time I can't use Terminal. As Sabahattin says you get two hard discs in a Mac mini server as I'll be putting the VM7 Pro on one and it'll have the new thing which I can't spell. Kawal. Re: Buying VMFusion 7 Pro.
Yeah, but even if you don't actually run OS X Server, the Server Mini is the only one with two identical SSDs inside. That's the ideal machine for using either OS X or bootcamped/virtualised Windows in simultaneously. It works very well, though I'm now using mine for RAID 0 Linux. :) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Hi. Another thing is as I understand it that you need the pro version if you e.g. wants to run linux. I can really recommend vmware fusion pro it is much faster here than version 6. I also got the server error the first two times I tried to buy vmware fusion. My brother helped me to buy it from windows that worked, but I think it was a coincidence. Best regards Annie.
