Re: Voice control on Mac running Sonoma
Yes Gabe you’re right, on the Mac voice control interprets what it hears from voice as your dictation which gets some pretty screwy results as you say. In order to use it you really have to use headphones to keep voiceover in your ear and not in voice controls microphone ear. All that said I’ve decided to ditch it and just stick with the dictation feature to enter text. Works very very well and it can save a whole lot of typing and where in tear on the carpal tunnel situation. Re: Voice control on Mac running Sonoma
Hi, I've never used voice control on a Mac. However, I can say that I do not recommend it at least on an iOS device for someone who uses VoiceOver. It tends to listen to everything you say and in a text message or email you can get double entries of everything because it thinks you're also dictating. I don't know if the Mac would have the same behaviors but if forced to guess would say it probably will. Hello, I use dictation for all my r written correspondence. Unfortunately compost dictation creates more issues than it solves. So I am forced to use Dragon professional standalone. I'm using version 15.60. I know the company has a version 16. When using J-Say along with Jaws for windows. This setup seems to be working reasonably well. As most will remember I use parallels desktop Pro. This is because this is the only official Microsoft, and Apple officially sanctioned, and supported configuration one running Windows on a Aram Mac. Sometimes I do use "voice control" but I find that some of the word predictions because of using AI can be a bit tricky. The solution I'm using seems to be working well for the most part. Unfortunately, no dictation solution is going to be 100% accurate. Hi Kelly, thanks. I do use dictation but I’m hoping to look into voice control for the editing commands it has. It’s funny how we never read a full message and miss so much. You’ll notice that I said in my message that I used dictation for the bulk of my typing. Funny how that works. Re: Voice control on Mac running Sonoma
Hi, I don’t use Voice Control but I do use Dictation fairly often to enter text. You can configure this so a double press for example of the control key turns on dictation, enter your text by voice and tap control again. > On Dec 6, 2023, at 2:42 PM, Phil Halton wrote: > > Is anyone successfully using voice control features to work with documents, > creating, editing etc.?
