Hello,
Well, I don’t know what to say other than that my boes headphones with 3.5 mm
jack work just fine while installing windows 10 on my MBP mid 2014. While the
laptop speakers don’t work till windows comes up with the drivers, for some
reason the 3.5 mm connector works just fine.

Yeah I would have thought it would have to be a USB a device of some sort as
audio not installed is a problem I have with servers being setup but USB
speakers work fine for me.

 Now a few questions.

I'm running windows in restricted mode, that's without a product key.

 The quesyion is this.

If I purchase a product key and for some reason I need to completely
reinstall windows on my mac with boot camp, will my product key work every
time I need to do this? Or, will I need to contact Microsoft for a key
 reset/reactivation?

As I said, this is only if it becomes necessary to reinstall a whole new
 install of windows using bootcamp.

 Thanks.

In fact, you may find you need to use a USB headphone or speaker, not

Re: Finally got Windows 10 running on my mac with Bootcamp. Now a few questions

2019-01-07 Thread 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries
Thanks, Dan. This is a rather useful and important finding. Ordinarily,
one would expect using the latest release is the way to go. But, it
seems that isn't always the case, as it seems it wasn't this time.

I presume that once you installed, you were able to upgrade the the
later Windows 10 release? I'm sure Windows would be prompting for that.

You and I have relatively similar hardware. Mine is a Mac Airbook from
2014.

Best,

Janina

Hi,
Yep, just use 3.5 mm headphone and connect it to the output jack.
It works on my MBP mid 2014 model year machine.

2019-01-06 Thread 'Dan' via MacVisionaries
Hello,
The speakers will not work till Windows is in the final setup faze, where you
enter your account name and the like.
Yes, you can connect headphones directly to the 3.5 jack.
After windows takes over from boot camp, after several minutes, just activate
narrator with control command on a mac keyboard or control and windows key on a
windows keyboard.

Re: Finally got Windows 10 running on my mac with Bootcamp. Now a few questions

2019-01-06 Thread Oriol Gómez
hi
windows drivers for the bootcamp system are not included
the mac speakers do not work with the generic Realtec drivers that
microsoft provides
Thus, the installation is not accessible.
In the case of a macbook pro with only USB C ports, I have found no
way to solve this, as the windows install does not support USB C or
maybe it does not support Apple's USB C to USB A adapters.

Has anyone found solutions to this?

Concerning the use of headphones during the windows installation, is there any

Hello,
Ok. Guess I’ll call Microsoft and hope they will answer my question.

Dan,

It should work for you if You need to reimage however it really now days
depends on what type of key you get.

I know I've used my key more than once on the same machine but my licence
isnn't a standard retail key.

Subject: Finally got Windows 10 running on my mac with Bootcamp. Now a few
questions

Hi folks,
I got bootcamp install and windows running just fine on my mac.
Now a few questions.

I'm running windows in restricted mode, that's without a product key.

The quesyion is this.

If I purchase a product key and for some reason I need to completely reinstall
windows on my mac with boot camp, will my product key work every time I need to
do this? Or, will I need to contact Microsoft for a key reset/reactivation?

As I said, this is only if it becomes necessary to reinstall a whole new
install of windows using bootcamp.

Thanks.

Dan

Re: Finally got Windows 10 running on my mac with Bootcamp. Now a few questions

2019-01-05 Thread 'Dan' via MacVisionaries
Hi Janina and list,
First off. Thanks about answering the question regarding the product key.
That's what I thought but wanted to be sure.
Ok, here goes.
It's all about the correct iso. I was using the latest iso, the october
release. Even though I thought about running the April iso, I didn't My
reasoning was that narrator was improved after the April iso.
Any way, I spoke with someone at apple accessibility and they looked through
many different articles and finally found some info regarding using the April
iso instead of the latest image from October. It had something to do with the
latest iOS 10.14.2 on the Mac.
At any rate, after using the April iso file, I had no problems at all. In fact,
I did use narrator with headphones after I got to that point in the
installation process. I was able to complete the installation without any
sighted assistance.
Wow, does windows 10 ever fly on my mid 2014 MBP.

Thanks to everyone for helping me.
Now, I need to decide where I go from here. Do I want Home addition or Pro? Do
I still want to consider a refirbished computer. or, perhaps both. If I decide
to use the Mac only, I'll probably get a few items, like a usb hub and some
additional audio input/output devices.

Again, thanks to everyone.
BTW. I was on the phone with Apple accessibility for about 45 minutes. Thanks
to them as well.

Your product key will register you and your machine with Microsoft. So,
should you need to reinstall on the same machine, this will just be
handled for you in the background.

By the way what was the resolution to your earlier failures? Tell us a
little of how that got resolved, please.
