Hi, Logic 9 (Express/Studio) was presented yesterday. I think the
English version is already available, e.g. the German localized
version comes later (4-5 weeks at the moment).

Greetings, Pierre

Re: Logic 9

2009-07-24 Thread Slau

I've received confirmation from Apple that there are no improvements in this
release of Logic. However, I would strongly encourage anyone interested in
Logic accessibility to email the following people who are either responsible
for audio in OS X or on the Logic team:
Xander Soren
Andreas Dedring
Bob Hunt

I've spoken with Bob Hunt who is definitely on the Logic team. Several years
ago at a trade show, he had indicated that they were working on
accessibility and we've certainly seen a dramatic improvement from version 7
to 8 in Logic Studio. Although I'm also frustrated by the news, I'm still
hopeful that we'll see full accessibility in a future release. If anyone
does decide to email these people, please remember not to antagonize or
criticize harshly but instead, express your concerns along with your support
of Apple's work on the accessibility front for the operating system. What is
it they say about bees and honey?

Cheers!

Re: Logic 9

2009-07-24 Thread A-Pro Studio

Hi Slau,

I fully agree with you, and I will write some nice lines for these
guys. I ordered Logic Studio 8 when it was launched, even though I knew
it was not very compatible, and I have just ordered the Logic 9
upgrade. This might seem to be a silly thing to do, but I think it
will have some impact both on how well I will know the product when it
is fully VO compatible, and also show that I am having some trust in
their efforts to make this VO compatibility thing happen in the near
future. I know there are several other VO users that have done the
same thing. Also, just like with GarageBand; the better we know the
accessible part of the product, the better we are able to give
constructive feedback on the parts that are not accessible.

Take care,
John André

RE: logic 9 express

2010-03-30 Thread Bryan Smart
There is nothing for sequencing.

Get your money back.

Sorry.

Perhaps when the new Pro Tools release comes with the accessibility fixes, you
can buy that. The only public statement about when that will be available was
sometime this Spring. The next release for all Pro Tools users will include the
changes, though, so, when-ever that comes, then the accessibility will, also.

Hi,

No offense but, could you write a little more than 1 word? It would be nice to
have an idea of what your saying "no" to without reading more of the thread.
Plus the question was answered long ago so your 1 word answer is even more of a
waste since you didn't even give further insight or ad to the answer in any way.

RE: logic 9 express help

2010-04-30 Thread Bryan Smart
Hi Chad.

You asked about Logic support a month ago when you ordered it, and we told you
that it didn't work with VoiceOver. You can't assign instruments to tracks. You
can't work any mixing features. You can't manipulate the regions list in order
to edit.

You can't use Logic's instruments in Garage Band, or in any other program
besides Logic.

Logic installs some extra instrument sounds for EXS24, which GB can use, but
you could have picked that up much more cheaply through Jam Packs.

Oh well. Sorry you opened the box, as no refund now.
