Re: No passcode sounds on Apple watch after latest update

2020-03-09 Thread Gabe Griffith
Hi,

As John said, the sound is there but is very faint after the 6.x update. I also
have a series 4 watch and noticed this after the update. Like John though I
often find it easier to unlock my watch using the phone regardless of sounds or
no sounds.

Re: No passcode sounds on Apple watch after latest update

2020-03-09 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

I doubt that the version of Apple Watch would affect this aspect of the system.
Yes, there are items that are specific to each version of the Apple Watch due
to specific hardware, but audible feedback at the pass-code is most likely not
one of them.

As I said, it’s on the 4th generation Apple watch. So I can’t test it on 3rd
generation.

Please report to Apple accessibility. The little sound after I double-tap each
number when entering the passcode was reassuring. surely it;s not rocket

Re: No passcode sounds on Apple watch after latest update

2020-03-09 Thread Bradford Snyder
I have a Series 5 watch running watchOS 6.2.3, and I have no sound feedback
whatsoever when entering a passcode. Same was true on my Series 3 that I had
until last month.
Like I said, this started with watchOS 6.x.

Re: No passcode sounds on Apple watch after latest update

2020-03-09 Thread John JD Denning
I have a fourth GEN watch latest OS. And I do not get any sound for entering
the passcode. Voiceover reads the number but when I double tap it I don’t get
anything. Most of the time I just unlock my Watch via the phone unlock. I very
seldom have to enter the password on the watch. But I would like the sounds.

Yes. My watch does the same thing. I think it started doing this behavior with
watchOS 6.x.
I’ve just learned to live with it.

Re: No passcode sounds on Apple watch after latest update

2020-03-09 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

I just got my first watch this past Christmas, so it came with WatchOS 6.1. I
have never heard audio feedback when entering a pass-code, so didn't realize
that it used to be that way. I'm not sure whether it's a bug, or whether it's
something that was purposely removed. I suggest you eMail Apple Accessibility
to see what they have to say.

Later...
