Re: Refreshing iCloud Drive

2020-02-21 Thread Dave Carlson
Okay, I went back to iCloud settings in the iPhone, and iCloud in System
Preferences, made sure I had everything checked, and then launched iCloud.com
in Safari on the Mac. After I logged in and went through
all that 6-digit verification code stuff…dah-dah-bang, gah-dah-boom! It’s
working again. Thanks for pushing me in the right direction.

Re: Refreshing iCloud Drive

2020-02-21 Thread David G. Carlson via iPhone
Likely you are correct. I need to go back and see if I set up something
incorrectly. It’s strange that a couple files are updating to fairly recent
vintage, but most of them are stuck back in the dark ages.

Dave,

Did you just start syncing things in your Documents and Desktop folders, or has
this supposedly been syncing for quite a while? If it's brand new, then it may
take a while for everything to move up to iCloud then be visible to the iPhone.
If it's not a brand new thing, I have seen it take a while for the iPhone to
see updates or changes to files. Not a real long time, maybe 5 minutes or so.
The only way I know to refresh things, would be to either turn off iCloud Drive
on the iPhone, then back out of Settings, wait a minute or two then re-enable
it. I don't recommend that approach. Alternatively, you could close the Files
app from the app switcher, then upon re-opening it, it would do a poll of the
existing iCloud Drive data. Again, this should only be necessary if you've
been syncing iCloud Drive for a long time and this is just happening lately.
Finally, of course, there's always the good old restart of the iPhone that
likes to fix all sorts of unknown issues.

Re: Refreshing iCloud Drive

2020-02-21 Thread J. Cyr
I ran into this issue with the Notes App just yesterday. Being very new to
the Mac I presumed I was missing something or doing it wrong and called Apple
Accessibility. After going through everything he knew to do the rep assisting
me concluded that it was a technical problem, referred it to the correct
department and arranged a call back with me next week. Very interesting to
hear I may not be the only one experiencing this problem.
