Re: Tabular content and Voiceover

2009-06-09 Thread erik burggraaf

Hi, You can do it in safari for sure. Presumably you can do it in
tables 9 as well or the spreadsheet application that comes with open
office, numbers is it? I forget.

I think the last I read tables weren't functioning in text edit, but
most other places they should be pretty workable.

 Good morning,

Is there currently a web browser or word processor in which tabular

 Thanks in advance,

Re: Tabular content and Voiceover

Hi.

Table navigation works fine with Safari if you switch to group mode.
Voiceover doesn't say row 1, row 2 etc, but you can go up, down,
left and right like in all other tables.

Re: Tabular content and Voiceover

2009-06-08 Thread Ignasi Cambra

Hi,
I think tables are somehow accessible with Pages 09, but I'm not sure.
In any case I have found tables in Ms Word documents to be reasonably
understandable in Textedit. The thing is that you need to know that
you are in a table, but once you know it, it's doable. What happens is
that if you have the insertion cursor at the beginning of the line, VO
will read you the first column of the table as you go down. If you
know there is an other column next to it, you just arrow through the
text of the first column on one of the rows, and if you keep going to
the right you will be able to read the text on the next column. If you
just leave the cursor there and go up and down, VO will read the 2nd
column for you. I don't know if this is understandable at all, but if
you must get something out of a table, it's definitely not impossible.
