2019-07-30 Thread 'Bill Gallik' via MacVisionaries
It is quite likely that “Hand Off” is appropriately configured in Settings.
But, there are times when the handshake between devices is interrupted and this
incredibly useful feature fails to work. It has happened to me while updating
a note via my Mac Mini; then when I open the file on my iPhone the copy there
has not been updated.

Typically, rebooting the lagging device corrects the issue.

NOTE: By “lagging device,” I mean the device where the updates have not been
made and “Hand-Off” should have furnished said updates.

Re: The universal keyboard feature

2019-07-29 Thread Michael Busboom
Hello Jonathan,

I read with interest your explanation about enabling the Universal Clipboard.
Although I have used this feature many times in the past, getting it to work
has been a hit and miss proposition.

The one point in your message that is confusing to me is Point 4: "The feature
is enabled on both systems.“

How do you enable the feature? Under settings on my iPhone 10,, I did a search
for the terms universal and clipboard. I came up empty.

Could you tell me how to enable the feature, both on my iPhone 10 and MacBook
Pro?

Thank you.

Re: The universal keyboard feature

2019-07-29 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
I got it to work with My mac and Iphone XR.
I copied from my mac to my Iphone Xr.
Be sure that you’re logged into the same icloud account with both devices.
I think they must be on the same network too so if you for example a 2.4 ghz
and one 5ghz network and if they alter between these it wont work.
Hands-off must be turned on too.
That’s what i can come up with.

Re: The universal keyboard feature

2019-07-29 Thread Jonathan Cohn
I generally find the universal clipboard feature called “Mail” to be more
consistent if a little less efficient. That being said, you need to make sure
that the following are all set:
1. Both systems are logged into the same iCloud account.
2. Bluetooth and WiFi are enabled on both systems.
3. Both systems are on the same WiFi.
4. The feature is enabled on both systems.
It is possible that item 3 is not required, and in fact in one specification, I
believe I read that this service sets up a temporary point to point ethernet
connection.
Sometimes disabling the service and re-enabling it will work.

Best of Luck!
