Re: ibooks storage?
Hi, Have you tried going into the purchases section in either itunes or the ibook store and redownloading them? I am out of suggestions if this doesn’t work.. Re: ibooks storage?
I don’t like iBooks and rarely buy them. I prefer to buy from Kobo. The Kobo app works fine on my iPhone, less well on an iPad, and on the Mac, Adobe Digital Editions reads Kobo books. Adobe Digital Editions puts a folder in the Documents folder and the files have meaningful names. Also, Kobo books are usually cheaper than iBooks. I prefer Kobo to Kindle since I can’t read Kindle books on my Mac. Re: ibooks storage?
Thanks to the new iBooks storage location, it’s now very hard to back up your stuff. In prior days, Books was just a folder in your iTunes media folder, which could be anywhere on your drive or on another file system altogether. My advice is to keep a separate Books folder somewhere with all the PDFs and third-party ePub books you bought. You can then add those back to iBooks. Download the rest of it from within iBooks itself. And of course the one sanctioned approach to backing up iBooks, one by one, requires drag and drop, can’t be done from the keyboard, and doesn’t work at all with VoiceOver. I wish Apple weren’t so damned determined to promote their own walled garden at the expense of everything and everyone else any time they come out with their latest new tat. It’s hateful. iBooks for Mac just makes me want to go back to Windows sometimes, because it’s not at all clear to me what the value proposition is for Mac users. This was clearly another product of the iOSification of OS X. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
