Snowleopard, Safari, and Voiceover

2009-08-30 Thread Barry Hadder

Using Google, I have always had 100 search results per page and it
worked just fine with vo and leopard. Now, anything over 10 and vo
navigation slows to a crawl. I'm referring to moving around with the
vo cursor. I consider it bairly usable with 10. I'm using group.
This tells me that any web page with a lot of content will have series
problems using vo. I was wondering if anybody else can confirm this.

I also want to confirm the choppy speech in mail, but I've also
noticed it everywhere. It seems to be most noticeable in mail however.

Thanks.

Re: Snowleopard, Safari, and Voiceover

2009-08-30 Thread Justin Harford

Hey there

How do you make google show more than 10 results?

I have actually found the opposite to be true. VO was really really
bad at the comcast homepage in Leopard, now its just bad, but at least
workable. everywhere else on the internet is much more responsive.
That is actually one of the positive things I have found to say about
Snow Leopard. I tried a bit with groups mode and found the same to be
true. I'll look more into it. Could you give us a webpage? It
seriously could be an issue with groups mode, I know that support for
groups mode has been not quite as great since the beginning of vo.

Re: Snowleopard, Safari, and Voiceover

2009-08-30 Thread Barry Hadder

Hay,

On the google page, click on the search preferences link if IGoogle,
or search settings if classic. The setting will be on the fallowing
page.

It's deffentaly an issue with group mode. While I agree that group
got a little flaky with Safari4 in leopard, sl is very different. On
the positive side, group mode seems to be grouping things much more
logically. However, it seems that when a
group contains a large amount of items, I get constant Safari busy
and Safari ready. Some times the busy periods last more than 10
seconds. It doesn't get any better after I interact with the group
either. To exactly reproduce this, you can do the fallowing:
1. Make sure in google search preferences you have 50 or more items
to display per search page.
2. inter php exceptions in the search field. I'm doing it without
the quotes.

Now, if you have group on, the search results are in a content list.
I'm not sure how they end up in such a structure when group is on.
I've been just treating it as a group which may have been mis stating
things.
Thanks.
