iOS 9.2 Beta, KNFB 2.6. I think that’s the latest.
Let me try playing around to see how I got my setting to stick.

Huh! Weird. I'm not doubting you for even one second, but are you sure
that you have the most up to date version? What version, speaking of which,
are you running of I O S, and finally, what device are you running the KNFB
Reader on, if you don't mind me asking?

Mine has been set to 40 percent and stays that way.
Maybe the trick is to change it before start scanning.

I don't have KNFB Reader on my iPhone at this time, but I do have a couple of
questions just out of curiosity:
– Is this happening on the iPhone sixS and the 6S+ only? Or are other iOS
devices likewise affected?

– Is this something that has started with the release of iOS 9.1?

Re: Uh, guys? We've got a problem with KNFB Reader for I O S.

2015-10-22 Thread Michael Babcock
seems to be a bug; as if you go to settings and change the default reading
rate, once you close KNFB out of the app switcher the speaking rate returns to
20%
The way i’ve found to get around this is to either #1 adjust reading rate when
first opening app (not ideal but doable)
or #2, just keep knob in the app switcher and it seems to work when you don’t
close it.
best.

Re: Uh, guys? We've got a problem with KNFB Reader for I O S.

2015-10-22 Thread Eileen Scrivani
I’m not sure exactly when it started in the KFB Reader, but I suspect it was
with the release of IOS 9. At that time I needed to use a web site for a
purchase and when prompted to update my credit card info (i.e. experation month
and year) using picker buttons, it would not work. Other people on the
IDevices list said they have had the problem with the picker buttons ... same
type of thing as in KFB Reader where you need to double tap then flick up/down
to change/select a value. Its just not working.

In all honesty, I have not had a reason to try updating credit card info again,
but I doubt its been fixed since so many other things are working crappily.

Hello,

I, too, am experiencing this problem.

The thing is, I don't see how to set a new default speech rate. If such a
mechanism exists, then we'd be in business.

Was it possible to set a new speech rate previously?

It's actually 20% and it seems to reset itself each time. I'm calling this a
major bug.

Yes. This problem occurred relatively recently. Not sure exactly when, but I’d
say within the last week or so.

Re: Uh, guys? We've got a problem with KNFB Reader for I O S.

2015-10-22 Thread Ray Foret Jr
I noticed exactly the same thing. On the very right, there is a slider that
let's you adjust the speaking rate. However, I noticed that, every time I open
the KNFB reader, the speed goes back to 20% (twenty percent). That means that
I have to adjust it every single time. It makes no difference whether I adjust
it in the settings menu or on the fly.

Y'all, this has just got to be fixed.

Guys, we have a problem.

I just opened up the KNFB Reader app on my IPhone 6S, and went to scan a
document. The scan was fine, considering the content I was scanning,
however the female voice that reads the material was obviously on Ambian or
