RE: Windows 10 Releaces to install on my mac mini

2019-05-14 Thread Simon Fogarty
So long as you have the iso file and once installed the product key.
Once you have the machine up and running you will be able to update to the
latest updates.

Note, the 1809 installer may give an issue with bootcamp so you have to go back
to 1803 to install windows through bootcamp and then update to 1809
This may have been corrected in the latest MacOS release but I don’t believe so.

Hope that helps.

Hello Simon,
Here’s the link i used.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO

Only the updates from 2018 are available. Is there another page I should use?
Also, can this release be used as an installer for Boot Camp from scratch?
Thanks.

Hello,Thanks for that.
Here’s one of the problems I had with my MBP 2014 year machine. I had windows
installed and everything was going just fine. Then I decided to uninstall it
after a few weeks. Then a few weeks later, probably in February this year, I
reinstalled windows 10 on that machine again. Then after a whole bunch of
updates, and after I was done with windows at that point, I attempted to
uninstall it. But for some reason, I was unable to uninstall it. Not only would
boot camp not uninstall it, I had to reformat the SSD and reinstall the Mac os.
So, I’m wanting to avoide these kinds of problems. That is why I asked about
the next installable release of windows.
Later.

Hi list,
Here’s another question regarding installing windows 10 on my new mac mini OS X
14.4.
I know there were some problems with installing the October 2018 release of
windows 10. I also know that the April 2018 release of windows worked ok for
installing on the mac.
Here’s my question.
When will this year’s April release be available for mac users to download and
install?
TIA.

Re: Windows 10 Releaces to install on my mac mini

2019-05-09 Thread Matt Turner
I’ve installed windows 10, 1809 with no problem on my mac mini 2018, using
bootcamp.
I got the iso from the microsoft download center.
I’ve also done a little audio walk thru on installing it with bootcamp.
If I can find it, I’ll post a link.

2019-05-09 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi yeah it's is a known issue currently so if your really worried about it then
your best bet is to use a virtual environment such as vm fusion or virtual box.

That way you don't need to re image your machine just delete the virtual
machine.

2019-05-08 Thread Simon Fogarty
It's not yet out,

But yes there is an issue in boot camp installing win 10 1809 as you said,

However the known solution is to install windows 10 1803 which works very well
and is fully accessible during installation
And then once you have that installed you can update to 1809 with out issue and
still with full accessibility

I've been able to set this up 5 times this year on different machines without
assistance.
Hope this helps.

Hi list,
Here’s another question regarding installing windows 10 on my new mac mini OS X
14.4.
I know there were some problems with installing the October 2018 release of
windows 10. I also know that the April 2018 release of windows worked ok for
installing on the mac.
Here’s my question.
When will this year’s April release be available for mac users to download and
install?
TIA.
