Re: Windows 7 CTRL-right and left arrow Function Problem
I am having this same problem with System Access and running Windows 7 on a Mac Book with VMware Fusion when trying to edit text in Duxbury. Any ideas? Re: Windows 7 CTRL-right and left arrow Function Problem
I am slightly confused by what you are describing. For me selecting words is not a problem as control shift and left or right arrow keys work as normal. From the first part of your message it sounds like this might also be working for you? If I use control plus num pad 4 or 6 I can read a word at a time which works around the control arrow keys lack of functionality. . This was annoying until I got used to it, now it seems normal and not really a problem. However I never use the numpad for selecting text as the existing control shift arrow keys are working fine anyway. I am probably not understanding what you are describing. I know under XP this is not a problem,a nd gien my limited reason for needing Windows, it might be worth the risk of using that since all I do is format documents anyway. Re: Windows 7 CTRL-right and left arrow Function Problem
This problem has been there for more than a few versions of Jaws. When running Fusion with earlier versions of Fusion and Jaws, I could not use the arrow keys when in Microsoft Office word. Have not installed Widnows on my Mac Mini yet but one of these days I will. Kawal. Re: Windows 7 CTRL-right and left arrow Function Problem
The workaround if you are using an Apple extended keyboard is to use the NumPad cursor keys. So using Jaws in a Fusion window pressing control and numpad 6 will work as if it was control right arrow. Similarly control 4 will work the same as control left arrow. The other work around on all keyboards is to press the shift key in conjunction with the control and arrow keys. Jaws should read the words as normal. The This temporarily highlights all the text on the words you are reading but a press of a cursor key removes this and you can read at least a word at a time.
