Re: Zoom again.

2021-06-23 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Cool. I recall always being made to sign into the Zoom app on Mac. That does
either appear to have been changed, or maybe I was just mistaken in the past
believing that I needed to sign in. Thanks for the enlightenment.

That may also be an additional level of authentication required to attend
certain Zoom meetings.

However. in answer to the original question, for most meetings that are not
restricted by the meeting’s host, attendees who are not signed into a Zoom
account may attend Zoom meetings using a Zoom app or desktop client.

Re: Zoom again.

2021-06-23 Thread Brad Snyder
Actually, when using the Zoom app, it depends on the meeting settings as
determined by the owner of the Zoom account that is hosting the meeting.
There is a setting in Zoom, that when enabled, restricts meeting attendance to
only authenticated users.
An authenticated user, is a user who is signed into a Zoom account.
This restriction is rarely implemented for most meetings, and therefore, most
meetings can be attended by attendees who are not signed into a Zoom account.
I believe this is true regardless of through which platform one uses to attend
a Zoom meeting.

HTH.
