HiMark Interesting article. Will be interesting to finally see what they do release. I think if / when I upgrade I'll jump to the 8 or what ever it gets called. Cheers. Nor is it the only iPhone rumored to be giving Apple a headache at the moment. Apple is rumored to be developing an edition of the iPhone 8 that has a reflective finish. Most of this season's renders, mockups, and design drawings have been of the iPhone 8. Here, one shows the 10th anniversary edition's rumored reflective finish. Benjamin Geskin / Twittter The company's manufacturing woes, apparently driven by the technical complexities of producing the dramatically redesigned 10th anniversary edition iPhone -- possibly called the iPhone 8 -- have reportedly spread to the rumored iPhone 7S and 7S Plus in recent weeks. Now, according to some sources, all three forthcoming models are in danger of missing Apple's usual September delivery date. (Though not everyone agrees.) Apple typically delivers an "S" series upgrade in September in odd-numbered years, like 2017. This year, however, Apple and its suppliers are said to be struggling to mass produce the next flagship model, possibly called the iPhone 8, as well as the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus. According to a persistent series of reports by media, analysts, and supply chain sources, the debut of the "S" series, which will likely be a modestly upgraded version of the current generation iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, may be delayed. The iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus are currently scheduled to start the final phase of production in August -- months behind the normal timeline. This could result in any number of previously unthinkable scenarios including a postponed announcement, a significantly delayed ship date, or an announcement followed by severe product shortages. As the drama continues to unfold, we'll collect all of the rumors below. iPhone 7S specs we might see: • Overall, an incremental update of the current generation iPhone 7 • LCD display with TrueTone • Apple's next-generation processor (the A10X or A11) • Physical home button with support for Touch ID • iOS 11 (preview) • Wireless charging • Aluminum and/or glass case • Enhanced waterproofing • New color options including red • 2GB of RAM • Priced around $649 (iPhone 7S) and $749 (iPhone 7S Plus) Announcement and release dates True to form, Apple has officially announced nothing about the iPhone 7S or 7S Plus. And yet if this was a typical year, we'd still have confidence that the company was set to introduce and ship the "S" series sometime during the first half of September. According to the relentless drumbeat of rumors, however, an unprecedented set of manufacturing challenges has knocked this year's release schedule into disarray. For months, we've heard speculation that Apple may not have the flagship iPhone 8 ready to go until late 2017. More recently, the postponement buzz has extended this foreboding prediction to include the "S" series; in mid-July, Economic News Daily (via MacRumors) reported that all forthcoming iPhone models are facing "production delays." Nothing is certain -- and we still may see the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus appear right on schedule in early September. But October, November, and beyond remain distinct possibilities. What's new with the 2017 iPhone 'S' series upgrade? The two on the left are said to be iPhone 8 components; the two on the right are said to be coming to the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus, respectively. kamisky via reddit Most reports suggest that phone sizes will remain the same, setting the stage for a 4.7-inch iPhone 7S and 5.5-inch iPhone 7S Plus. The "S" family is expected to have an aluminum alloy chassis (via DigiTimes), while the iPhone 8 may get a glass and steel chassis. The forthcoming 7S Plus is nearly certain to have two cameras on the back, consistent with the current generation 7 Plus, though it's conceivable that the entry-level iPhone 7S could also get two rear-facing lenses in order to make fuller use of the AR capabilities featured in next generation of Apple's mobile operating system's (more on that below). CNET Reviews - Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 5:00 AM Apple iPhone 7 S Release Date, Price and Specs - CNET The iPhone 8 isn't the only phone we expect Apple to deliver before the end of the year. Much of the speculation about the iPhone 8, and one of the major factors said to be putting a crimp in production, involves a rumored virtual home button and its integration with Touch ID. The iPhone 7S and 7S Plus, however, are expected to stick with the current generation's conventional setup: a fingerprint sensor embedded in a physical home button. We do hear that the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus will get a performance upgrade; all three 2017 models are said to use Apple's next-generation A11 chip. Most of the "wireless charging" rumors -- technically, it's called inductive charging -- have revolved around the iPhone 8. But the CEO of Wistron, a Taiwanese iPhone assembler, reportedly revealed that that an upcoming 5.5

Certainly more competition is a good thing, although it sounds like youtube will need to offer more channels in order to compete with the other services, at this point, the channel list is rather lacking. Enjoy, Mark YouTube TV Release Date, Price and Specs - CNET CNET Reviews - Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11:52 AM Cable TV just got its biggest competitor yet. YouTube, the most popular video service on the web that recently announced it streamed one billion hours per day, is now launching a live TV service called YouTube TV. It will deliver live local TV channels like ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC as well as cable stalwarts like ESPN, the Disney Channel, Fox News and Bravo. (Disclosure: CBS is the parent company of CNET and Showtime.) The cost? $35 per month. YouTube hasn't yet set a release date, saying only that YouTube TV will appear "in the next few months." If you've never had cable TV service, you've already cut the cord, or you're on the fence considering whether to do so, YouTube TV offers yet another basically risk-free service to consider. Risk-free because you can cancel anytime and you're only out $35. Try that with your cable company. Three similar services exist already, namely Sling TV, PlayStation Vue and DirecTV Now, and Hulu has said it will debut yet another entry in this field before the end of the year, too. All offer various channel packages and features for a range of prices, starting at $20 per month for Sling TV. Here's a closer look. How does YouTube TV's channels compare? This is the big unknown, mainly because it could add more channels between now and when it launches. YouTube TV claims it's still negotiating with a few program providers to add channels. It says that the price won't go up if and when that happens. In the meantime, here are all of the channels it has announced so far: The networks included in YouTube TV are mostly the major broadcast networks and the cable channels owned by their parent companies. YouTube If it launches with only the channels above, its total number of channels will fall short of the base packages offered by DirecTV Now ($35/month) and PlayStation Vue ($30 or $40). The selection above is more than Sling offers in its base package ($20/month), however. Major channels missing from YouTube TV's lineup, yet available on other services, include AMC, CNN, Comedy Central, Discovery, Food Network, MTV and TNT, among many others. HBO is also a no-show, but you can sign up for HBO Now separately. If you're curious, here's a tally of all of the channels available on the other three. Works with Chromecast, Google Home, computers, iOS and Android phones and tablets . Launching in select major US cities only The cloud DVR lets you "record" shows to watch later, just like a traditional cable DVR, and sounds superior to what's offered on competitors. PlayStation Vue's cloud DVR erases your shows after 28 days. Sling TV's cloud DVR is still in beta and only available with certain devices, while DirecTV's has been promised but hasn't launched yet. The multiple simultaneous streams is similar to a "family plan" on a service like Spotify, allowing you to stream to more than one TV or device at the same time. Competitors (beyond Sling's base plan) also offer it. Only YouTube TV and Vue allows user profiles (similar to Netflix and Hulu), however, and only YouTube TV lets you log in with different credentials (email and password) to the same account. That makes it the most "shareable" of the bunch. So far, Chromecast is the only TV device Google says will work with YouTube TV. Sarah Tew/CNET Device support is spotty so far, however, with only Chromecast able to connect to a TV (Google Home owners can also command it via voice). If you have a TV with "Chromecast built-in," like Vizio SmartCast models or Sony sets running Android TV, it will work with those too. Like its competitors, YouTube TV is also available on mobile phones, tablets and computers. YouTube says support for "many other connected streaming devices and smart TVs is coming in 2017.&qu

YouTube TV will include YouTube Red original shows and movies. It also says that all of YouTube's trademark user-generated and online-native content would be folded into YouTube TV's searches. Beyond channels, what else should I know? The features included with a YouTube TV subscription are similar to what is offered on other devices, with some major differences. . Cloud DVR with unlimited storage . 3 simultaneous streams per account . 6 user profiles with separate log-ins per account . YouTube says support for "many other connected streaming devices and smart TVs is coming in 2017." That means it could add other TV platforms before launch, such as Android TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV or Apple TV -- all of which offer the standard YouTube app. Unike the others, YouTube TV won't be available nationwide. It will launch in select major cities only at firs

A little bit about iOS 6.1 release date, and the progress with the jailbreaking iOS six end up
From what I am learning at the video below, Apple just released iOS version 6.1, Beta number five. This beta version looks like the version that Apple releases before they release a public version of their iOS software. This means, Syria had Akley within the next week, we can hope to have iOS six point one out. This video also answers any questions related to jailbreaking iOS six: http://youtu.be/Huho9Ps-hxY http://empoweringtheblind.com Empowering the blind, one step at a time. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: A little bit about iOS 6.1 release date, and the progress with the jailbreaking iOS six end up
Hi Michael, So to summarize, ios 6.1 is just around the corner. Second, as soon as that comes out, then shortly afterwards, it is likely that the untethered jailbreak for ios 6.1 is ready as well. Did I miss anything important? It's a lot of talking, isn't it? Smile. Regards, Paul. Re: A little bit about iOS 6.1 release date, and the progress with the jailbreaking iOS six end up
It is, a lot of talking, but it has given me a good grasp of the understanding of what's going on with iOS. Yes, you understand that the same way that I do. I am kind of excited, simply to see what changes if any invoice overcome with iOS 6.1. In addition, I am kind of a geek, and I like to do weird things. Therefore, the intriguing idea of jailbreaking my phone in iOS 6.1 is Very exciting, and I can't wait to see what can be done with it. I will record a brief tutorial as soon as I get information about how to jailbreak, that explains the jailbreaking process, and demonstrates how it can potentially be done accessibly. Here's to hoping that the software is accessible, I am working on writing a blog posting and going to tweet that blog posting to this group. That way, we can hope that they consider accessibility towards the beginning of releasing it. At least, this is my hope. http://empoweringtheblind.com Empowering the blind, one step at a time. Hi Mike, I hope jailbreaking will still be as simple as: 1. Hook up the phone to the mac or pc using the usb cable. 2. Start the jailbreak util. 3. Hit start and wait, then enjoy. Do you think it'll still be that easy? Regards, Paul. I don't know, if you watch the video series, you learned that they completely redesigned the entire utility. It is no longer the: Redsn0w Jailbreak utility because of some of the hardware changes Apple made on the fours and later. However, one can hope that the process is as easy, if not easier. Device firmware update. You have to put it in this mode before jailbreaking works. Push and hold sleep and home at the same time. Keep them held for about 4 or 5 seconds. Release the sleep button but keep holding the home key for about another 4 or 5 seconds. Release the home key. This may take some practice to get the timing down pat. Chris Gilland.
