Can not select applets in Chinook

2008-02-27 Thread wolfg
Hi, when I click "Select applets..." in the Home menu, nothing is
happened. There is a error:
"hildon-desktop[5264]: GLIB WARNING ** default - Error reading plugin
directory: Error opening directory
'/usr/share/applications/hildon-home': No such file or directory".
Also, neither HelloWorld Task Navigator Plug-in nor HelloWorld Status
Bar Plug-in is showed. I installed the SDK using the maemo-sdk-install
script.

I'm seeing this after issuing "af-sb-init.sh start":

So, it's possible to extend Hildon Input Method for other language
such like Chinese?

Hi, Frank,

I faced same problem several days ago and I found the solution from here

http://viewcvs.scratchbox.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/scratchbox/doc/perl.txt?rev=1.2

try to extract perl package in the /scratchbox/packages to /host_usr

$ cd /host_usr
$ tar -xzvf /scratchbox/packages/scratchbox-perl-dev.tar.gz

maemo UI problem

2007-03-13 Thread wolfg

Hi,

I've installed scratchbox and maemo 2.2 rootstrap on my ubuntu dapper
box. But when I start the maemo UI, it isn't same as the UI showed in
Maemo 2.2 tutorial. There is a white blank on the top of Task
Navigator area and under "Tools" task launch menu only "Control
panel" can be found, no "Application manager", no "Backup/Restore".
Below are messages from af-sb-init.sh script:

Re: [maemo-developers] How to change font

Hi,

2007/2/9, Antti Ijäs <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

Better yet, port SCIM to Maemo. That would be really interesting and it
shouldn't be that hard to do.

/ Antti

I think a virtual keyboard / handwriting working with SCIM should be
made if replaced Hildon input method with SCIM. Am I right?

2007/2/9, mayank jain <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

m17n-db can be plugged right into SCIM using scim-m17n packages. &
once this is available on maemo, indic languages also can see light of
the day sometime soon :)

Hope is a very powerfull tool :)

I know a little about m17n-db. Can it help to solve this Asian
languages input problem on N770/800?

Thanks.

Officially, there is no Chinese input method available.
For N770, there is gcin available [1]. you have to compiler source code.
I didn't try if it is still compatible with N800.

Is it possible to use gcin with the Hildon virtual keyboard on N770
