Everybody is a foreigner. How should we implement this? The options seem to be: 1 - All feeds in one planet stream. 2 - Apartheid English - All The Rest 3 - Par language planets. Please agree on something and we will apply it. Knowing what are the real needs (blogs about maemo development in non-English) will help. Looks like the guy on Ebay who sold me the N800 left out the headphone and can't find it. Duuh. I can't locate a replacement (perhaps unsurprisingly) and the Nokia dealers here (Ireland) seem to be phone-only people and haven't come across the N800. Does anyone know of a place to buy a replacement? Re: Problem with maemo-mapper on N770
Hi, yes, that is the procedure which worked for me with maemo-mapper on the OS2007HE. When I run the OS2007 one from the command line, I got an illegal instruction error. That may be explained easily, because the N800 uses a different instruction set architecture version from ARM than the N770. The N800 processor supports additional instructions. If the OS2007 packages make use of the new instructions, they will not run on the N770. The best solution would be (my view) to recompile them in an OS2007 scratchbox with support for ARM9 (not ARM11). This is part of the ongoing repository mess discussion on maemo-devel. I could not get maemo-mapper to work on the (previous?) hacker edition; I tried maemo-mapper versions, though. At the moment, I'm running 1.4.7 on the last official Nokia release and it mostly works.[*] Sometimes it refuses to start. In those cases, try a again. It may take 5 times... Once a broking tile was laying around and I obviously have had to remove the downloaded OSM maps. Hi Magnus, I guess you installed the N800 version, from the bora repositories. This binary won't work on 770. You must manually download and install the 770 version from the project page, or force installing the 770 version from the mistral/gregale/scirocco repository. Same applies for mplayer, in case you're trying it. Those are the only N800 binaries that I found won't work on 770. I hope it helps. Hi! I have a N770 with OS2007 Hacker Edition. I decided to try the maemo mapper for a journey. I could install it, but when downloading map repositories (the default open rep was installed, and it prompted me to download repositories), it crashed, and I could not restart it. So i did apt-get --purge remove, and I deleted the dirs in the user directory: .maemo-mapper and Maps. Reinstalled maemo-mapper - but it just flashes and disappears. Anyone got advice in this situation? It feels strange that I cannot get back to the first situation, when I actually could run it for a while. Anything I could check or try?
