In OS2008 the PDF Reader now has two virtual buttons on screen which appear
briefly then disappear that allow forward/back paging whether the screen is
normal or full screen, zoomed or not. Seems to work quite well.

I don't know why this kind of information couldn't have been added to Bugzilla
so that you all knew what was coming in OS 2008 - the lack of any comments from
Nokia can either be interpreted as inappropriate and insane corporate secrecy,
or unwillingness to use Bugzilla appropriately. Probably both. :(

Please use the bugzilla. In a mailing list suggestions like this just
get lost... The right developer/designer never sees them, or they see
them at the wrong time.
Not that this particular case is going anywhere in Bugzilla either.

Flash Player 9 Update 3 (ie h.264 support) on N810

2007-11-22 Thread Tim
Subject line says it all - can anyone tell me if the Moviestar update
(aka Update 3 with h.264 support) is present on the N810, or is being
worked on? I am specifically looking at whether we will be able to
stream h.264 in Flash on the N810.

Any pointers appreciated.

Re: WPA difficulties

2007-11-22 Thread technut
Just FYI, I have noticed a change in this behaviour with OS2008 (at
least in RX-44_2008SE_1.2007.42-18).

All the root certs that ship with OS2008 are pre-set to be Trusted for WLAN
(not for E-mail or Browser).

So there should no longer be a need to manually set the WLAN Trust checkbox,
unless you need to import a new root certificate (eg. if you
are using a private CA).

No 'NEXT' key in acrobat reader

2007-11-22 Thread Dongi
I often read ebooks or documentation on my N800 and I'm annoyed because
I cannot easily switch to the next page while I'm in fullscreen mode.

As screen real-estate is very precious I typically zoom the pdf until
the whole width of the page fills the screen. In fullscreen mode
HARDKEY_UP and HARDKEY_DOWN do as you expect but the function of
HARDKEY_LEFT and HARDKEY_RIGHT depends whether you have a horizontal
scrollbar or not on your screen. If you don't that's fine, you can
switch to the next page with the right key, but if you do the left/right
keys are scrolling the page horizontally and this is how it should be.

What I'm proposing is to make the HARDKEY_SELECT key a next page key
in fullscreen mode. Right now the HARDKEY_SELECT duplicates the
HARDKEY_FULLSCREEN one so I think some functionality is lost.

Forget the "language specific subpages" part. One page should be
convenient...

..it will be.

Like on http://debian-community.org/planets/ where the blogs are put
into the feeds via entry? Nice solution btw. A colleague pointed me to
this approach while discussing possible solutions.

I've added some entries to wiki overview page. If the lists of different
languages gets to long, I will move it to a sub page.

Take a look whether you like it or not (all readers here are welcome for
comments). See Planet Maemo / International Feed Collection near the end
of the page.

See also the language specific subpages:

https://maemo.org/community/wiki/planetmaemofeedsen/
and
https://maemo.org/community/wiki/planetmaemofeedsde/ (translated)

I've added an extra email address for those who are unable or unwilling
to use a wiki.

Worth a try. ;-) An extra email of me will follow shortly.
