Hi,
Thanks it works (I enable the Extras Devel repository)!!

I agree it's not very polished (e.g. double-clicking is *very* finicky and
doesn't follow the Maemo convention of single-tapping an already
selected item to activate it), but I have also used for months and it works
well.

Matt,

I don't own an iphone so I don't have the means to test/verify your 
perception about webex on a small screen. I have to believe, however, 
that Cisco would not have invested  the time and effort to make a 
no-cost iphone client available if they did not themselves conclude that 
such a client was not just useable but useful as well.

Java is a large install on most platforms. 12mb actually seems quite  
small to me.

I can't imagine Webex being pleasant on any screen as small as the  
N8x00 or iPhone.

Dear Eero,
Thanks very much, I probably created the problem myself then. Thanks
for pointing out it was my fault ;)
Very interesting; in all seriousness; though. Thank you, I did not know
all that. I will bear that in mind for the future. The cards I threw out
were rather old RS-MMC cards I bought when I bought my original 770's,
and not very big so no loss there. I did copy all the information on the
cards to another card before reformating so no loss there either.

Apparently pwsafe was only available from Diablo Extras-devel, while the
.install file in the maemo.org/downloads site wanted to get it from
Extras.

I've promoted pwsafe from Extras-devel to Extras, it should become
installable soon.

So, summary: wait a bit and try again.  Alternatively (if you don't want

Cisco.Webex support on Iphone Why not also on N800/N810

All,

in my still unrealized quest to "lose the laptop" and, since owning my 
N800 for the last two years, I have wanted to be able to use it to 
participate in www conference calls/wwwcasts, etc but without much 
success at all. Most of the www conferences  I have attended/been 
invited to have been using either Cisco/Webex or Microsoft Livemeeting, 
both of which have worked quite well for me on laptop and desktop computers.

Cisco, has wisely come to the realization that the Iphone has found 
traction in the business market and so they have announced  a Free webex 
client that installs on the Iphone.

Maybe Nokia should do a deal with Cisco/Webex to get a version of this 
client on the N800/N810.

The Microsoft LiveMeeting webaccess client runs as a JAVA app and is 
spec'ed to run on Windows XP/Vista OS with Firefox or Apple OS with 
Safari. However there is no mention of whether or not it will work on 
Firefox on Linux. I did some further research to learn that the version 
of the Java VM that is compatible with the Windows/Firefox version is 
Sun®  1.5.11, 1.6.x.

Is Nokia ever going to make Java support standard on the Internet Tablets?

It's easy to corrupt by:
- unplugging the USB cable without using "safely remove"
- taking the card out while it's being written to
- device freeze/reboot (no reproducible cases known currently)
   when some data is only partly written to the card

Linux kernel remounts disk (in this case memory card) as read-only
when it notices that it's corrupted.  This is done to protect it
from further corruption.

You can resolve this by repairing the file system.  Device
file manager has a utility for this, but there might not be
enough memory to run that if your card is large and full,
so I'd recommend doing it from the PC.

Once you uncorrupt your filesystem, the /var/lib/apt part is easy to
fix.  The directory only contains files that are downloaded from the
repositories, so you don't need to rescue them.  Just make sure that you
hve all the directories that apt-get complains about, likely

/var/lib/apt/lists/
/var/lib/apt/lists/partial/
