but, is it really unusable? isn't it just very slow? besides, from a viewpoint
of wifi detection and traffic capture, it sounds reasonable to me.

I have a feeling that many packages are imported but not submitted because of
the version freeze, and hence no packages should be submitted. But they may
import them into svn and planing to submitt after the final release.
You should also keep in mind that there are many submittions that never builds,
because the build fail for some reason. Hence no package is made and copied to
the repository. And if the packager doesn't notice this, he would think all is
fine.

Recently imported. Someone forgot to submit, the build failed or they are
holding submittion untill after final release, is my theory.

This is most surely a forgotten build. ufoai depends on it.

In my oppinion, these 5 listed packages should be resubmitted.

Hello, The following list of packages are on the svn in the cauldron
directory, but are not in the packages repository.

Please don't remove ceylon - it's too early version to include it into Mga2;
remove racket - it had been already packaged for Mga2 as AFAIR plt. Shellinabox
and axiom are being slowly packaged, not finished - there were bug requests
against them. I will look what is hyphen-id, don't remove it.

Ups, now i dont kno to what you were asking about, if the problem

freezing, or about the problem of detect less networks.
But disabling powersaving does in fact fix the problem regarding the
keyboard repeating while typing and mouse freezing.

Larry Finger what he said:

I'd put system-config-printer in the Live medias as it's main purpose is
testing hardware compatibility before install. But this means either :

- work again against space problems removing huge things le LibreOffice
- consider that 700MB limit should be raised and only keep Dual arch as

[Mageia-dev] Freeze push: samba 3.6.5

2012-05-01 Thread Buchan Milne
Please push samba-3.6.5, it fixes CVE-2012-2111 (no other changes).

The current package also now has samba-virusfilter enabled (replacing samba-
vscan that has been disabled for a long time), but this has no impact on users
who don't install the packages and explicitly enable the VFS modules.

However, if this change isn't desired, the 3.6.5 update was committed
separately in r234445

Buchan

Well that means that the commit listed above is problematic.

You should tell the upstream folks about this as Thomas stated. Please

2012-05-01 Thread Angelo Naselli
Please push tortoisehg 2.3.2.
According to changelog [1] is for the most a bug fixing release.
As a new feature they fixed nautilus integration, even if i have to
admit i added some changes to have it working.

Thanks in advance,
Angelo

iceauth-1.0.5-1.mga2
icewm-i18n-1.3.7-6.mga2
icewm-light-1.3.7-6.mga2
icewm-theme-oxygen-aya-0.1-3.mga2
are in?

think it's a huge file, i don't know if it's really important to have such a
big log, i will talk about it upstream also.

We could also add only a part of kipi-plugins, maybe the most important
ones, even if i agree an installation from a live is going to miss them and
they should be added by hands.

Please, could you push pdfshuffler 0.6.0 ?
We are currently providing a 0.6.0 pre-release (svn rev 75 tarball),
waiting this final 0.6.0 release.

Thanks,

In fact with this kernel the machine is able to detect the same wifi
networks that sued to detect with kernel-3.3.1...

[Mageia-dev] advisories for rpmdrake

2012-05-01 Thread Maarten Vanraes
this bug report has been lying around for too long:

https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2223
( rpmdrake doesn't show advisories)

apparently it's pretty easy and the descriptions file just needs to be modified
by the people who push the update. (is this sysadmin?)

i think we just need to put this in the policy and have the people who push it
put the advisory in this descriptions file on the mirrors.

the only question i have is how does this get onto the mirrors? is there an
svn file we can just modify so that the advisories become available?

in any case, i'm planning on putting this in the policy once and for all, so
that this minor bug is finally resolved.

any objections?

Oh. That might have been the original culprit for mga#5362 (missing
icons causes Pinta to crash)

and possibly others under minimal environments.

Thanks,

Should not be the issue, since oxygen-gtk falls back on gnome icon
theme. And gnome should provide all icons necessary for gtk apps.
In fact I fear the issue is the opposite. With the flag above, the
fallback is not set (programatically) anymore by oxygen-gtk and you add
to set it manually in some gtk specific config file.

If you use oxygen icons in your non KDE DE, and don't add the gnome
fallback, then you will miss some (non-standard) icons.

So they either:
1. dont have exactly same hw.
2. dont test stable tree
3. have the fix in upstream tree

Well, that is why I told you to report upstream.

Did you report that 3.3.1 worked and 3.3.3 stopped working?

Anyway, checking commit logs between upstream 3.3.1 and 3.3.3
shows one commit that specifically touches the module you use...

So can you try kernel-3.3.4-1.1.mga2 from:
http://tmb.mine.nu/Mageia/Cauldron/bugs/3.3.4-rtlwifi-revert/
http://tmb2.mine.nu/Mageia/Cauldron/bugs/3.3.4-rtlwifi-revert/

If that works, you can ping upstream that:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=commit;h=eb641120479de7ee703fabb5e6ee0ec7947474ba

broke your wireless.

 Now for the problem...

do you have package rtlwifi-firmware installed ?

Can you post output of ls -l /lib/firmware/rtlwifi

I have talked with some developers that use to maintain the
compat-wireless stuff (that will be merged in kernel-3.5) and they
havent this kind of problem.
Cant this be some caused by some patch added into the mageia kernel >
3.3.1 releases?

if i run kernel-3.3.1 i detect again about 10 wifi networks like it
used to happen.
