[Mailman-Users] case changes to the public name of a list
Hi! I've installed the system but I can't seem to alter the case of the list name. In the administrator's panel, I edit something like [EMAIL PROTECTED] to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (in "The public name of this list (make case-changes only)" field). But to no avail - the big X is always there... but I don't what the first letter of the list to be uppercase. Does anybody know of a solution? [Mailman-Users] Wishlist addition
At this time, you need to know that the ONLY place to go to get a reminder of your password is: http://mydomain.com/mailman/options/myList/myName%40myISP.com This is a bit obscure. How hard would it be to add this URL to the response to the "help" e-mail command? How could I get this in the Wishlist? [Mailman-Users] java supported Email list mgr?
Hello, We have some questions regarding List Servers being tied into our database and its functionality. My name is Charles. I am with Turpentyne Productions, a web-design company. We have developed a program to help our customers with their E-mail marketing campaigns. The program is based in Java (.jsp files). This is permission-based E-mail, meaning we want the end-recipients to be able to delete themselves from our database if they wish to.Some of the features our customers can use are: adding/deleting/editing e-mail addresses in their own list. In the future, we also plan to give them reports of click-throughs, bounce backs, and so forth. Each one of our customers has the potential of from 500- 50,000 emails. There will be approximately 50 or more emails going out every month, overall. Our site and database is hosted by Servlets.net, and is in a shared environment. Servlets.net already uses Mailman as its list server. We are interested in using Mailman as our list server for multiple customers. Is it possible to tie in the ‘Mailman’ List Manager with our MySQL database and our java programming? What resources are available to help us in doing so?Currently, we are sending our HTML E-mails without any list server. As a result, we are encountering numerous problems that include: Enlarged file sizes, AOL doesn’t read HTML messages properly, slow sending speed, and other errors. Can you tell us if and maybe how Mailman can solve these problems?I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your time, effort and support.Regards,Charles Turpentyne Productions&FireDrum.comPermission Based E-Mail Marketing Contact: Charles Sanderson 480.699.1524 Work480.614.3970 Fax480.326.9347 Cellwww.turpentyneproductions.com www.firedrum.com

That's why we kept telling you to check the #! at the top of the file. Re: [Mailman-Users] Can't run configure file!
I have looked at the shebang line (the #!) and all seems to be in order there. I am also in the directory containing the configure file. : : The first line of configure should be something like : : #! : : Does the program named in your configure file exist, and have the proper : permissions? : : mjb. : : : -- : Mailman-Users mailing list : [EMAIL PROTECTED] : http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-users : Mailman FAQ: http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py : -- Mailman-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-users Mailman FAQ: http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py
Re: [Mailman-Users] New user question
Thanks but this I don't need to go through all that junk just to make it so a user does not need to remember a password. The software says a subscribe request that includes a password will use that password for the user. All I am asking (and asking again) is if there is a way to set up an initial list of subscribers all with the common password? Perhaps I didn't make that point clear the first time. BTW if you respond to the list it makes it easier. [Mailman-Users] problem with archives
set up two test-lists on my new listserver and posted messages to it. All seems to work ok, but the archive does not work. The lists are named "test" and "test2". If I look at pipermail/test2 I get a page. The Test2 Archives You can get more information about this list or you can download the full raw archive ( 5 KB ). Currently, there are no archives. While I can download the raw-archive with all messages inside, I cant browse any message because it just says "currently there are no archives". the files index.html and pipermail.pck in the archives/private/test2 are updated at every new posting. archives/private/test2.mbox/test2.mbox contains all the messages and there are two working symlinks in the archives/public - folder : test2 and test2.mbox what am I missing ? thnx, peter -- Mailman-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-users Mailman FAQ: http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py
