That makes sense. Ironically, the problem was that MailMate is now
much better at tracking which mailboxes are needed, but it wrongly
determined that it no longer needed the dynamically computed content
of a submailbox if it had not been recently displayed.

(Implementation-wise, the submailboxes feature is still quite a mess,
but for now I'm resisting an urge to re-implement it.)

I'll remove the update until I've had time to look into it. Sorry

I believe this particular issue is now fixed in r5986.

Hi Benny, I ran into an issue with the "Tagged" smart mailbox using

Steve,

Sorry to say, I cannot replicate what you’re reporting. But your
issue

should be forwarded to Benny.

As to what I see, in my install of M-M, the menu when a message is
selected, (right click>Junk State>options) has **BOTH “Junk” and
“Not Junk”** checked! This is true fro any selected message in
the
Inbox. So I would agree that is weird, since no junk is filtered in
M-M.
In my case, it comes pretty close - having for years used SpamSieve
for

junk mail filtering.

Here on my virtually unattended Mini, Apple Mail running SpamSieve
3.0
b4 (beta) on a MacMini 2020 M1 to accomplish with Remote Training.
That
lets other machines drop suspected spam that get through easily.
I’m

told the new SpamSieve build 3.0 supports MailMate, however. Michael
Tsai (developer of SpamSieve) says he will continue to support
MailMate.

If there is a final imminent release of MailMate, I may try it using
SpamSieve, but that seems way off.

My set up on the MacMini does all the filtering outside all other
device
applications (both for mobile devices using standard iOS Mail apps
and

other Mac like the MBP, both mobile and desktop connections.

So, I don’t use MM for ANY junk filtering. It can, I suppose, but
it

simply isn’t worth my time to try, plus a clean inbox is much too
valuable to give up what works.

Take your point on experimental builds 1.14(r5978), though. R5975
seemed
a bust having caused crashes on my machine (MBP2021 M1Pro) running
MacOS

13.5.1 (22G90) and apparently others, too.

I spent a bunch of time tweaking my layout for the *Correspondence*

When I came back, r5970 had crashed (Benny, logs were automatically

When I relaunched,

When I re-entered *Correspondence*, I discovered:

Somehow, I’d hoped that the massive rewrite would’ve solved the

I can’t afford to spend ten or fifteen minutes every two or three
days to retrain it to work the way I want. (Yes, it does usually take
that long: MM sets itself to a set of columns that is wrong in almost
every way — including the infernal “Outline Column,” which
resets to “From,” which means I can’t delete the “From”
column until after I’ve changed the “Outline Column” to
something else. I like to use a “Correspondents” column, but that
makes “From” redundant.)

---

Icing on the cake: we’ve had bad flooding here in Vermont
 earlier this week, and the
internet was very flakey. Over and over again, my wife, my child, and
I all had to remember to keep telling MailMate to “Take Fastmail
Online” and “Take iCloud Online” and “Take Gmail Online.”
*Please*, can’t the default be that MailMate will just poll every
minute or two and *automatically* bring it back online? Pretty
please?

Well, I got some crash reports for r5969 -- all of them the same
issue. It's not one I can reproduce, but I believe it is fixed in
r5970. Going back, the r5965 release included a major rewrite of the
message list and a (somewhat more limited) rewrite was done for the
mailbox list in r5969. More importantly, r5969+ includes a fix for a
long standing issue in test releases which some users experienced
relatively frequently.

I welcome users to try out
[MailMate_r5970.tbz](http://updates.mailmate-app.com/archives/MailMate_r5970.tbz)
and if there are no major issues then I'll make it a test release.

Roger,

Take a look at
https://proton.me/support/labels-in-bridge?ref=instantsearch

Seems that real tags are not supported (per the statement at the bottom
of the page). Proton Mail’s Labels appear as folders within MailMate
for the Proton Mail account,.

https://proton.me/blog/new-proton-mail-bridge

I set up a filter in the Proton Mail web UI to add tags based on
certain criteria, and they’re applied correctly in the web mailer,
so the filter works.

However, when MailMate connects to the account via Proton Mail Bridge,
it doesn’t show the tags in the Tags column. Any tags I add manually
in MailMate are not reflected in the Proton Mail web UI.

Any ideas?

2020-03-11 Thread Steve Mayer via mailmate

Bram,

 Try the following:

1. Select your message
2. Go to the 'View' menu and choose 'Show Raw Message'
3. Select the message contents that now show up (click on the message
and hit command-A)

4. Go to the 'Message' menu and choose Forward.

The contents, including headers, should be in your new message body.

I have to admit I’ve never heard of a redirect before. But choosing
