Y'all have your outbound listed on spamhaus and I'm taking a lot of heat for deliverability issues from your space. Please contact me or request spamhaus removal for your outbounds. Your courteous support staff hung up on me when I tried to explain that the AUP code I had would not make sense to your deliverabilty team. Thanks in advance.

That actually sounds more like they accidentally hired a commissioned

I got from the thread that there either isn't an option or when they
went to buy the new license they were given a retroactive fee as
well... which would convince me to jump ship and blacklist the company
from any further business if I were on the receiving end...

Re: [mailop] Yahoo Support Page

2018-02-13 Thread Benjamin BILLON
How would you see it happen?
HTTP forms can require certain information, and if bombing isn't totally
impossible, captcha still can help greatly.

This thread is about Support and not Abuse, but both would be similar for big
operators.
I believe that if you complain by email, your email will be parsed to enter a
ticketing tool anyway, as the web form would have done.

I really wish people would stop putting their abuse desks (etc) behind web
forms. The abuse came in via email. Let us complain about it via email please.

The "everything over HTTP" culture is getting out of hand.

It would be nice if the Google Groups would "confirm opt-in" like
other mailing lists.

Have you ever tried to set up a mailing list for your family or school?

Sure. It seems polite to send people an invitation and ask them if
they'd actually like to join the mailing list.

Does your company have mailing lists and require opt-in for them?

I'm self-employed. ;) But customers have mailing lists. These are
very different from the "school" or "family" example though.

There are plenty of scenarios where its pretty impractical.

Unfortunately, making things "practical" is also very convenient for
spammers.

It would certainly be easier for the abuse team to require opt-in,
but then it would be a much less useful tool for a wide variety of
use cases that aren't abusive.

Perhaps the default should be confirmed opt-in but allowing
unconfirmed subcriptions after list owners jump through several extra
hoops to prove they're not spammers? Account aging is probably a good
start.

Wouldn't be a better idea to default to confirmed-opt-in and only allow
switching that off for approved "good" users? (could be robot policed
if done well)
