[mailop] Yahoo or Sky postmaster contact
Hi all, If there's a friendly Sky and/or Yahoo postmaster on list, could they please drop me a mail? For some reason (and I'm yet to understand - hence the call for help), if I send to @yahoo.co.uk or @sky.com email addresses from my mail servers (seemingly from any domain) the emails seem to disappear into the abyss, never to be seen again. My recipients claim (not been able to personally verify) that these emails are not even in their junk folder - which concerns me. If it were in Junk I wouldn't mind as much - at least the mail was delivered somewhere - and we can get recipients to start teaching the mail filters. If they don't have the email at all, that's more concerning. Thanks to a concerted effort by some postmasters - thank you to those who have helped - I think we've cracked delivery to *somewhere* with the usual "issue" providers (Gmail, Hotmail) - but are still struggling with these two. Thanks in advance for any assistance/pointers that can be given. Re: [mailop] Interesting fallout from the FaceBook outage?
I wonder if the jump in DNS traffic was due to all the websites out there that have Facebook analytics tracking or other Facebook widgets installed. Then add-in all the mobile devices that have the Facebook app and other apps that include Facebook tracking. All that combined would be a lot of clients trying to resolve Facebook.com. Re: [mailop] Interesting fallout from the FaceBook outage?
Matt, I would bet good money that you are correct. FB and instragram logos (and tracking) are widespread across a number of websites that otherwise have nothing to do with FB, other than that they want visitors to "follow" or "like" them. I'm sure there's a lot of DNS/Web traffic looking for FB even when a human isn't directly browsing FB's website or app. On 10/8/2021 9:13 AM, Matt Gilbert via mailop wrote: I wonder if the jump in DNS traffic was due to all the websites out there that have Facebook analytics tracking or other Facebook widgets installed. [mailop] eBay are sending email with their users' email addresses despite SPF -all and DMARC p=reject
This is a bounce from eBay for an email they tried to deliver that uses my domain for both the envelope sender and From: header. [mailop] Google not sending DMARC Aggregate Reports
Hello Everyone, Google abruptly stopped sending DMARC Aggregate reports. No RUA reports have been sent since Oct. 3rd. Seems strange that not much has been said about this issue. Can someone offer any information on why this is happening? I would appreciate any insight. Thank you, Ali ___ mailop mailing list mailop@mailop.org https://list.mailop.org/listinfo/mailop
Re: [mailop] eBay are sending email with their users' email addresses despite SPF -all and DMARC p=reject
Interesting. Was it not sent through forwarding of some type? Though SRS generally doesn't rewrite the From header I just ran through my fleet for any matches of "stratus.rno.ebay.com" and only one had an envelope sender that didn't look appropriate from the logs, but it was forwarded from Gmail (props to the one single customer forwarding FROM Gmail instead of TO), so the envelope sender was rewritten in the style of SRS. No, there's no forwarding involved at all. eBay failed to deliver it and then sent a bounce directly to my server. -- Simon Arlott ___ mailop mailing list mailop@mailop.org https://list.mailop.org/listinfo/mailop
Re: [mailop] Google not sending DMARC Aggregate Reports
I checked, last one I received was some time on Oct 2nd. I am getting others though. Weird. Re: [mailop] Google not sending DMARC Aggregate Reports
You're not alone. Both Google's DMARC reports and Google Postmaster Tools updates stopped, last update / last notification sent seems to be around October 3rd. I blogged about this just a few hours ago: https://www.spamresource.com/2021/10/google-postmaster-tools-and-dmarc.html I'm hearing second hand that it's a known issue and being worked on; if that applies to both DMARC and GPT, or just GPT, I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect both.
