I really, really miss one simple feature in ARC signatures. Whilst it is

would be super helpful to allow **a sender** to specify it's next
trusted hop.

You mean liks this?

   https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-levine-dkim-conditional/

I proposed that in 2014, the ARC crowd didn't go for it.

Yes, that's exactly what I have in my mind if thinking about how to
`fix` dmarc for forwarding!

And it doesn't introduce that bloated complexity that ARC does, allowing
to restore authority by just following DKIM signatures. It is not a
silver bullet as you still have a choice to trust or not for those
forwarders but it is really a choice of a sender, like the whole DMARC
policy. As far as I observe, spammers now use DMARC more actively and
properly than legit senders.

So now we also need to check more signatures with ARC (which I
personally hate, as RSA and even EdDSA are quite CPU intensive
operations) and still have no way to allow a sender to specify a trusted
forwarder.

Re: [mailop] dmarc reports

2022-06-27 Thread Sebastiaan de Vos via mailop

Hello Eduardo,

The latest version of OpenDMARC is able to send reports. Documentation
can be found here
(http://www.trusteddomain.org/opendmarc/reports-README). It works with
history-files, cron-jobs and - preferrably - a database.

Personally, I have chosen to replace Spamassassin, OpenDKIM and
OpenDMARC with a tool that does all at once: rspamd
(https://www.rspamd.com/doc/quickstart.html).

I hope this helps!

Kind Regards,

Sebastiaan de Vos

when using keywords saying  sending reports, but, nowhere can I find

Does someone have a URL or any kind of links to website or document
which gives this informations as it is outside of my ability to find

wasted to much time on google already.

We are using postfix, spamassassin opendmarc, but are at loss to
understand how to send reports out to peoples

Hi.

You don't indicate what kind of rewriting you mean.  It probably
doesn't matter, since you seem to feel that mailing lists have to
follow some relevant standards. that would sustain SPF validation.
However I don't have a guess at what standards you have in mind.

I also don't understand how SPF validates, when mail is simply
relayed through an MTA that isn't pre-registered in the SPF DNS
record. Are you thinking that it is natural and reasonable to
pre-register all of the MTAs in a path, up to the receiving one that
does SPF validation?

Please enlighten us.
