MI Does Mi v6 have Auto Save Workspace function

2000-07-30 Thread Doyle, Peter W

Can anybody confirm whether MI v6 has an Auto Save Workspace function. I
don't recall coming across it in the Beta release?

MI MB compiling error problem

2000-07-30 Thread Doug Pease

List Gurus

I am trying to create an application using the new Set Window Printer
statement in MB 6

When I compile my application with the following statement
Set Window FW
Printer Name "\\NT1\HP1055CM by HP" Orientation Portrait Copies 1
PaperSize 9(or any other number)

I get a System Error message window stating "Internal Error 34623" then MB
just closes down.

Now, if I compile it without including PaperSize it is successful.

Is this a bug or can someone shed some light on this for me.

Thanks

RE: MI MB compiling error problem

2000-07-30 Thread Dion Duran

This the reply I got when I ask tech support.
"This is bug# 14223 in MapInfo 6.0."

They didn't give me anymore than that on when it can be fixed.

MI Syntax to append using Update Column

2000-07-30 Thread David Reid

Greetings list,

I have a column I have performed an "Update" to, updating "Selection" column
"OnPage" with "1".

I now wish update this column once more with existing content "1" while
appending ",2" to the initial value to acheive the result "1,2"

I've accomplished this with nearly exceptable results except where there is
no initial value in which case I recieve the value ",2"

Onpage + ",2"

I guess what I'm needing to do here is "trim" the comma "if" there is no
initial data. I just can't seem to figure out the syntax.

If there is no initial value the result would be "2" not ",2"

Thanks

MI: Oracle 8i (v8.1.5) and MapInfo 5.5 - Problems

2000-07-30 Thread Jayaprakash Atmaram

Dear MI Gurus,

Helpful hints, needed. One of our customer having data in
Oracle8i and wanted the same to be imported into Oracle 8i Spatial.
Then they are interested to view the spatial objects in MapInfo 5.5 or 6.

The options I choose to view the spatial data in MapInfo 5.5:

I connect to Oracle using a DBMS connection and the Oracle 8i connection.
Enter username, password and service.

The data I am retrieving has been made mappable and given a projection. I
am not downloading every field for example Area table contains
Area_SDODIM,AREA_SDOGEOM,AREA_SDOINDEX,AREA_SDOLAYER.

The table is entered in the SDO_GEOM_METADATA table and the MapInfo
MapCatalog.

The table is linked - I check the download data (default option).

After all this I get a point as a Map on the Map window. I click on the info tool
and I get all the info about Area in that one point. I also noted that I was not able
to select Polyline or region options!!

Please let me know what is necessary to populate Oracle database to
Oracle 8i Spatial? Any prerequistes to do the same? Iam I missing something...

Please let me know if Iam missing something. Any hints would be of great help.

Thanks in advance.

Warm Regards,
