A first grade teacher collected
well known proverbs.

She gave each child in her class the first half of a proverb
and
asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb.
Their
insight may surprise you.

MI: Overflow error message

1999-10-26 Thread Andrew Pollock

All

Attached is a snip of code that is causing an overflow error in the
program. I've never seen an error of this type, nor is it
referenced in any of the books or online help. I've tried
rebooting, etc. to no avail.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks!

Drew Pollock

code snip follows:

IF data_info = US OR
data_info = us THEN
SELECT *
FROM land into Land1
ELSE
Select *
from land where land.obj within buffer_obj into Land1
END IF
Insert Into List_fac Select * from Land1

Tony,

Thanks! It seems that we had a variable declared as decimal 8,0 and the DB
Admin changed the field to 10,0 without telling anyone causing the overflow
to occur. Go figure! I guess it always pays to look at the data before
running programs. I'll pass this along to my programmers.

Thanks again for the help.

Had this problem myselft the other day. My variable was defined as a

Are there limitations on the type of variable you are using? EG text
variables

NOt sure if I have been of any help.

Good luck.

MI MM - reverse geocoding

1999-09-08 Thread Andrew Pollock
All,

Is there a way to use MapMarker to reverse geocode and give out
zip+4 information given the facility's lat and long coordinates?
I'd like to update the zip field and am confident of the lat and
longs. To build a table of all possible zip+4 values and geocode
that, is HUGE and time consuming.

Thanks!

MI5.5 - Odd results from legends

1999-07-22 Thread Andrew Pollock
Hi

We have a floor plan map that has as one field, floor
covering. Each room is a region and we want a thematic map that
shows each room with a specific pattern. So, we do the Create
Thematic Map; Select Individual; Select Region IndValue Color; then press
the styles button from the final step of the wizard.

The style button then comes up with only line styles available, not
region styles. I don't remember that EVER happening. No
matter what I do, the program only shows line styles, even with BW
thematic maps.

Is this a new bug or have y'all run across this one before. We
have just upgraded to v5.5 and so far, I don't know how it
made it out the door.
