RE: MI-L Zoom Layering Objects in a TAB
Carolyn, Further to what Greg said, and maybe more appropriately if, by text objects, you mean labels, there is similarly a "Labels" button for you to set the same zoom options as "Display", which is more about how the graphic object is displayed. Re: MI-L index file
Hello David, A missing IND file is a problem related to the TAB file itself - not the workspace. In the TAB header you can see, which fields are supposed to be indexed. You can just open the TAB file in a text editor and delete the "index" words. Kind regards Uffe Kousgaard www.routeware.dk - Original Message - From: "David Yeates" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Friday, August 19, 2005 11:32 AM Subject: MI-L index file Hi, I am carrying out some analyses using the SAS system and then using it to write a MapInfo workspace file to display mapping information in a standard and routine way. Everything works fine except that when I open the workspace in MapInfo I get a pesky little pop-up which lets me know that the index file (.IND) does not exist for the data being used. It's not a big problem as MapInfo carries on and then generates it (the index file) - however it would be good not to have to clink on the pop-up button. Anyone know the structure of the index file (it presumably has the labels) so that I can write it as well ? Re:: MI-L Convert NGR to Easting and Northing
Hi Matt I have written a Mapbasic tool which can do this (Conversion Tools) - it also converts D:M:S etc to decimal and creates points all in one step. It can be downloaded form the Map Room website: http://www.bodley.ox.ac.uk/guides/maps/geo_tools.htm It is not zipped, so remember to right-click and save it to your MI tools folder. regards Nigel On Fri, 19 Aug 2005 11:13:21 +0100 Matthew Tamea <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > Hi there > > > > Is anyone aware of a utility that will convert NGR (TQ12345678 etc) to > eastings and northings? > > > > Many thanks > > > > Matt > > > __ Nigel N James Map Room Bodleian Library Broad St Oxford OX1 3BG UK tel : +44 1865 277013 fax: +44 1865 277139 Visit the award-winning Map Room Home Page at: http://www.bodley.ox.ac.uk/guides/maps/ - List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 17559

For general use, I'd recommend the excel spreadsheet available from http://www.bangor.ac.uk/is/iss025/osgbfaq.htm. There are links on that page to other implementations if required. RE: MI-L Selecting records that fall within a range of values
Not sure if this will work in earlier versions of MI (I use MI v8) but you could also use the 'between' key word for numeric values: Select * from YourTable where Date between 1900 and 2000 For date you could try: Select * from points where date1 between "02/02/05" and "01/08/05" Greg Driver Mapping & Data Officer Surrey Police Tel: 01483 48 2292 Fax: 01483 48 2374 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED -Original Message- From: Terry McDonnell [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 18 August 2005 17:35 To: Alan Silvester; mapinfo-l@lists.directionsmag.com Subject: RE: MI-L Selecting records that fall within a range of values Alan Assuming that date is a numeric field, otherwise date fuynctions will need to be employed: Select * from YourTable where Date > 1900 and Date < 2000 into csr20thCent Browse * from csr20thCent HTH Terry -Original Message- From: Alan Silvester [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 18 August 2005 17:30 To: Terry McDonnell Subject: MI-L Selecting records that fall within a range of values Hello, Does anybody a know a query of how to select any records that are greater than a certain value, but less than another value? e.g. where condition: Date > 1900 and Date<2000 Any help appreciated, thanks Alan - List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 17549 - List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 17550 Internet communications are not secure and therefore Surrey Police does not accept legal responsibility for the contents of this message. MI-L SQL Querying
I have a table with 270+ polygons in it, all polygons are referenced with a four figure number then two letters. I want to pick out all polygons that have the same four-figured number and then combine them, is there a way of automating this process? I know that you can do a SQL select to pick out a four figured number and then combine the results, but is there anyway of doing this in one process for all differing four figured numbers?
